Objective & Design :
The objective of PCU, U.P.DASP is to support the Government of U.P.in its efforts to promote sustainable agricultural growth with employment generation and poverty alleviation through the process of agricultural diversification in the State.

Functions of the organization :
** Work relating to the formation, planning and execution of agricultural diversification related projects in the state.

** The approved projects / schemes of the state and the Government of India and other agencies in the state, which will be diversified by agriculture diversification, will be implemented through Project Coordination Unit and Janpadian units.

Implementation Department / Agency at District level :
The implementation of Crop Diversification Project in the western Uttar Pradesh at district level will be done through development block level workers / nominated personnel for the Human Resources and Project available in District Project Coordination Unit, UDP Dos.

The District Project Coordinator will work in the technical assistance of the concerned departments at the district level and in the direction of PGPG. The District Project Coordinator, UDP DSP will be fully responsible for project implementation on the district.

In the project, the availability of Development Block level workers will be made available through the NGO Service Provider. Project Cardination Unit will select the NGO Service Provider in line with the prescribed specifications of UDP DSP, Lucknow DSP.

** Integrated Crop Technology Demonstration in Kharif, Rabi and Zaid Crops.
** Integrated Pest Management Demonstration in Kharif, Rabi and Zaid Crops.
** Soil Health Improvement through construction of NADEP and Vermi Compost Units.
** Exposure Visit within state and outside State.
** Seminars and Workshops.

Horticulture :
Major Interventions of DASP Phase I & II :
** Promotion of Machan Cultivation.
** Promotion of Europeon Vegetables.
** Promotion of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.
** IPM Demonstration in fruit and vegetables.
** Private Sector Nursery Establishment in vegetables, Ornamental Plants & Herbs.

Food Processing :

** Distribution of Corrugated Fibre Box.

Animal Husbandry :

Dairy Development :

** Strengthening and Rehabilitation of PIU – Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation.
