How to Get a City Taxi Permit

Grant Of City Taxi Permit :
1. Application Form-36. of KMVR to be filed at RTO/ARTO
2. Fee
** Permit Fee of Rs.400/- + Rs.100/- to be paid at RTO Cash Counter.

4. Validity of Permit
** Permit operation area is limited to BBMP limits
** Permit will be issued for five (5) years. To be renewed thereafter.

Renewal Of City Taxi Permit :
1. Form- 36 of KMVR
2. Fee Rs. 400/- + Rs.100/- to be paid at RTO Cash counter.

3. Document :
** Original Permit
** No objection certificate from financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA/Lease/Hypothecation.

4. Application shall be filed before 15 days date of expiry of permit

Transfer Of City Taxi Permit :
1. Form – 52 of KMVR
2. Fee Rs. 400/- + Rs.100/- to be paid at RTO Cash counter.

3. Document :
** Original Permit
** No objection certificate from financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA/Lease/Hypothecation.

Transfer Of City Taxi Permit In Case Of Death Of Permit Holder :
1. Form -53 of KMVR
2. Fee Rs.100/- + Rs.100/- to be paid at RTO Cash counter

3. Document :
** Death Certificate
** Form-54 of KMVR regarding notice published in news paper
** Original Permit

Replacement Of City Taxi Permit :
** Application in Form -51 of KMVR
** Fee Rs.250/- + Rs.100/- to be paid at RTO Cash counter
** Original Documents of both the vehicles

Duplicate Permit –City Taxi :
** Application on Plain paper
** Fees: Rs. 200/- to be paid at RTO Cash counter.

What is the period of validity of Learner’s licence ?
Learner’s licence is valid for the period of six months.

What if FAILED in the preliminary test ?
Application along with documents will be returned to the failed applicant and he can reappear for test on the next day onward

On passing the test where and when to collect the Learner’s licence ?
Applicants who have passed the preliminary test can collect their learner’s licence between 4.30 – 5.30 pm on the same day from Driving Licence Section

** Traffic signs, traffic signals and rules of the road regulations made under section 118 of Motor Vehicles Act.
** Duties of driver when his vehicle is involved in an accident resulting in death or bodily injury of a person or damage to property of a third party.

Where to file application ?
Application for learner’s licence shall be presented by the applicant before the Asst. R.T.O. (Driving Licence Branch).
