** Pay slip issued by any office of the Central Government or a State Government or a Local body.
** Self swearing Affidavit by an applicant before an executive Magistrate or a First Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of age and address.
** Proof of legal presence in India in addition to proof of residence in case of foreigners.

Other Information

** Temporary Registration issued by the Registering Authority if any or Trade Certificate issued by the Dealer.
** Road Worthiness Certificate in form CMV22.
** Form CMV22A issued by Body Builders(EX. Goods vehicle, bus etc.)
** Customs clearance certificate in case of imported vehicle with licence and bond if any.
** Prescribed Registration fee to be paid at R.T.O Counter/Treasury.
** Tax payable after assessment (depending upon the category of vehicle).
** Fees for Fitness Certificate in case of transport vehicle.
** Hypothecation/Lease/HPA entry fee (if applicable).
** Income Tax PAN (zerox copy) or Form 60 or Form no. 61 (in case of Agriculturist)..
** Bonafide agriculture certificate issued by the Tahasildar in case of registration of Tractor-Trailor unit used for agriculture. In case of trailor or a semi-trailor, design approval proceedings issued by Commissioner for Transport to be produced.
** Permit proceedings in case of transport vehicle.
** Advance Registration allotment letter if any to be enclosed with fees paid proof.
** Three passport size photographs of the applicant.
** The application along with above documents shall be produced before the Registering Authority along with Vehicle for inspection.
** After inspection of new vehicle, if the vehicle complies with requirement of the Motor Vehicles Act and rules made thereunder, the registration mark will be assigned to the vehicle on the same day.

About Us
The Department of Transport was constituted by Government Order No.T6811:6865 RT :53-54:10 Dated 03-03-1955 vide Notification 4285-98 MV-23-56-57 Dated 27-08-1956. Then it was named as Motor Vehicles Department. Thereafter, the Department was re-named as TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT.

The primary thrust areas of the Department are enforcement of Motor Vehicles Act and Rules and collection of Tax. Road Transport is no more the domain of public sector. Private sector has emerged as a strong force in providing efficient transport facilities throughout the Nation.

3) Select the “Vehicle Registration” option.
4) Enter your Registration Number of the vehicle.
5) Click on the “Proceed” button.
6) Enter the Personal Details of the Owner.
7) Upload the Required Documents.
8) Pay the Application Fee.
9) Submit your application.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an Application Number. You can use this application number to track the status of your application.

You can also check the status of your application by visiting the Transport Department of Karnataka website and clicking on the “Vehicle Registration Status” tab. Enter your application number and date of birth and click on the “Submit” button. The status of your application will be displayed on the screen.

If your application is approved, you will be able to download your Registration Certificate (RC) and Insurance Certificate from the Transport Department of Karnataka website. You can also collect your RC and Insurance Certificate from a Transport Department office.
