How To Check RTI Rajasthan Status By SMS?

RTI – Application Status Tracking By SMS . A Citizen can check status of his/ her Application submitted online at RTI portal for the following cases
1. Fresh Application

To check the status of application, SMS can be sent as explained below.
1. For Fresh Application :
Type RJ RTI APP <15 digits Application No.> and send it to 9223166166 or 51969.
2. For First Appeal :
Type RJ RTI FA<15 digits Application No.> and send it to 9223166166 or 51969.

3. For Second Appeal :
Type RJ RTI SA<15 digits Application No.> and send it to 9223166166 or 51969.
4. For Complaints :
Type RJ RTI COMP<15 digits Application No.> and send it to 9223166166 or 51969.

Note : For SMS sent on 9223166166, SMS charges applicable would be as per individual SMS plan and for 51969, it would be between Rs. 1.00/- to Rs.3.00/- (as per telecom operator).

About Us :
RTI stands for Right To Information and has been given the status of a fundamental right under Article 19(1) of the Constitution. Article 19 (1) under which every citizen has freedom of speech and expression and have the right to know how the government works, what role does it play, what are its functions and so on.

Right to Information Act empowers every citizen to seek any information, take notes, extracts or certified copies of documents or records, take certified samples of material.

The RTI Act extends to the whole of India (except the State of Jammu and Kashmir), all bodies, which come under Government notification including NGOs, which are owned, controlled or are substantially financed by the Government.

FAQ On Right To Information (RTI)

1. Is there any specific Format of Application?
There is no prescribed format of application for seeking information. The application can be made on plain paper. The application should, however, have the name and complete postal address of the applicant.

2. Is it required to give any reason for seeking information?
The information seeker is not required to give reasons for seeking information.

3. Is there any provision for exemption from Disclosure of Information?
Sub-section (1) of section 8 and section 9 of the Act enumerate the types of information which is exempt from disclosure. Sub-section (2) of section 8, however, provides that information exempted under sub-section (1) or exempted under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 can be disclosed if public interest in disclosure overweighs the harm to the protected interest.

4. Is there any assistance available to the Applicant for filing RTI application?
If a person is unable to make a request in writing, he may seek the help of the Public Information Officer to write his application and the Public Information Officer should render him reasonable assistance.

Where a decision is taken to give access to a sensorily disabled person to any document, the Public Information Officer, shall provide such assistance to the person as may be appropriate for inspection.

5. What is the Time Period for Supply of Information?
In normal course, information to an applicant shall be supplied within 30 days from the receipt of application by the public authority. If information sought concerns the life or liberty of a person, it shall be supplied within 48 hours.

In case the application is sent through the Assistant Public Information Officer or it is sent to a wrong public authority, five days shall be added to the period of thirty days or 48 hours, as the case may be.

Additional Simplified Procedure

Here are the steps on how to check RTI Rajasthan status by SMS:
1. Send an SMS to 8828821314 in the following format:
RTI <Your Application Number>
For example, if your application number is 123456, you would send the following SMS:
RTI 123456

2. You will receive an SMS reply with the status of your application. The status may be one of the following:
** Pending: Your application is still pending with the Public Information Officer (PIO).
** Agreed: The PIO has agreed to provide you with the information you requested.
** Rejected: The PIO has rejected your request for information.
** Pending with First Appellate Authority: You have filed an appeal against the PIO’s decision. Your appeal is pending with the First Appellate Authority.
** Agreed by First Appellate Authority: The First Appellate Authority has agreed to provide you with the information you requested.
** Rejected by First Appellate Authority: The First Appellate Authority has rejected your appeal.

3. If you have any questions about the status of your application, you can contact the Rajasthan Right to Information Commission (RITC) at 0141-2921314.

Here are some additional tips for checking RTI Rajasthan status by SMS:
** Make sure you have entered your application number correctly.
** The SMS service is not available 24/7. It is usually available from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
** You may not receive an SMS reply immediately. It may take a few hours or even a few days for the SMS reply to be generated.
