About Us :
The office, originally known as Office of the Accountant General, Punjab, was set up at Shimla after the partition of the country in 1947. On re-organization of the States from 1st November, 1956 the office of the Comptroller, PEPSU, was also merged with the composite office.

On further re-organization of the States with effect from 1st November, 1966 the office was named as the Office of the Accountant General, Haryana and came into existence during the year 1967 on trifurcation of office of Accountant General Punjab, Shimla.

The office shifted to Chandigarh in January 1969. After restructuring of Indian Audit and Accounts Department from 1st March, 1984, the erstwhile office of the Accountant General Haryana was bifurcated into distinct offices Accountant General (Audit), Haryana & Accountant General (A&E), Haryana with separate cadres for respectively dealing with (a) audit work and (b) accounting and entitlement work.

FAQs :
1. Whether an employee joined prior to 01.01.2006, is eligible for allotment of GP Fund account number?
A person who has joined the Hr. Govt.service before 1.1.2006 on regular basis is eligible for allotment. After 1.1.2006, New Pension scheme is in operation. ( Haryana Govt. Letter No. 2150 /2008-1(Pen) dated 15/02/210.)

2. How much amount should be subscribed to G. P. Fund?
Minimum 8% and maximum monthly Pay including grade Pay can be subscribed to G.P. Fund every month. No Interest will be allocated on subscription made over and above of such limits. (Rules 10(1)(b),12(9) of Haryana GP Fund Rules, 2006).

3. Whether an employee dismissed from service is entitled for interest on GPF Final payment?
Dismissed subscriber is entitled to interest upto previous month on which final order of dismissal is passed. (Rules 12(8) of Haryana GP Fund Rules, 2006).

4. To which head of account an Non AIS subscriber should deposit GP Fund?
Non AIS subscriber, GP Fund credit should be deposited under head 8009-01-Civil-101- GPF. (As per List of Major, Minor head)

5. To which head of account an AIS subscriber should deposit GP Fund?
For AIS subscriber, GP Fund credit should be deposited under head 8009-01-Civil-104- AIS. (As per List of Major, Minor head).

6. My NDC case has been sent to your office but I have not got NDC
i) Case might have been received late.
ii). There may be discrepancies in the case, which have already been intimated to your DDO, for which you may contact your DDO.

7. I have got my credits adjusted but they are not visible on the website of your office.
i). The website is updated by NIC once a month, hence the data is not visible on the website immediately.
ii) There may be some problem(s) in updating the data in a particular case.

8. My interest may please be calculated and verified.
i). Interest calculation is the duty of DDO and Accounts Officer/section officer attached with your office.

9. Why Penal Interest has been imposed?.
i) Penal Interest is imposed and calculated by DDO, this office only matches the conditions applied on the loan.
