BIRDS View Birth Certificate

Getting the Birth certificate details is quite easy. Follow the simple steps as mentioned below :
Step 1 : Choose the registration Unit where the birth was registered.

Step 2 : Provide whatever details you know about the birth, like child name, gender, registration no. etc.., However, you have to compulsorily provide year of registration.

Step 3 : The list of Birth records available will be displayed on the screen. Choose the Birth record you are searching for from the list.

Step 4 : The complete details (Gist) of Birth certificate is displayed on the screen. You can print the details on a local printer attached to a computer. However remember that, as data is voluminous, if you provide correct details, the Birth details will be retrieved faster.

** Registration centre below is the RBD centre where births are registered officially. Each RBD centre registers births that have taken place in near their locality.

** For example RBD centre “G.B. Pant Hospital”, with code “1”, registers all births in Port Blair area.

** Another example, PHC Garacharama, one of the RBD centre registers births occuring in Garacharama and nearby areas.
** So please choose the registration centre in the below list to start the process of getting the Birth Certificate.

BIRDS :
The BIRDS system was conceived by NIC, Andaman in 2006 as a single “Web Point interface” among
(i) The registration centres of A & N Administration who maintain records relating to birth and death events that take place in the state
(ii) The other stakeholders who monitor the activities and

(iii) The various organizations in Govt and private domain who have use of the data originating from digitized birth and death records. The purpose was to design an integrated online system that can provide a wide range of services to the various entities involved, viz.

(1) Ordinary Citizens who can see their birth records details in internet.
(2) Registration centres to perform online registration in the website, from their office.

(3) The office of Registrar of Birth and Death, Port Blair to monitor in online mode, birth and death registration activities done at the various registration centres throughout the state.

(4) Other offices of A & N Administration who can use the BIRDS data for their office specific functions.
(5) Provide a facility for researchers, analysts, policy makers to use the date for their needs.

(6) Office of Registrar General of India (RGI), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, to dynamically generate all yearly tables as per the specified formats.
