Obtaining NOC for Sale/Removal Of Vehicle Outside Karnataka

Sale Or Removal Of Vehicle Within The State :
If the owner desires to remove or sell his vehicle outside the jurisdiction of registering authority within the State. Owner shall file the application on plain paper for issue of clearance certificate with the registering authority where the vehicle is registered along with the following documents : viz.

Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate, Tax Card, Permit and Fitness Certificate (in case of transport vehicle) and shall be responsible for clearing tax arrears, DSA cases etc.

Sale Or Removal Of Vehicle Outside The State :
If the owner desires to remove or sell his vehicle outside the jurisdiction of registering authority within the State. Owner shall file the application in form CMV28 in quadruplicate (4 copies) for issue of No Objection Certificate with the registering authority where the vehicle is registered along with the following documents : viz. Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate, Tax Card, Permit and Fitness Certificate (in case of transport vehicle) and shall be responsible for clearing tax arrears, DSA cases etc.
No Objection Certificate will be issued after obtaining a report in writing from the Police Authorities that no case relating to theft of the motor vehicle.
If the owner desires to remove or sell his vehicle to other state, shall file an application in form CMV 28 in quadruplicate (4 copies) for issue of No Objection Certificate to the registering authority along with the following documents :

Application & Documents Required

** Registration Certificate,
** Insurance Certificate.
** Tax Card if any.
** Permit and Fitness Certificate (in case of transport vehicle).
** Emission Test Certificate .
** Consent of Financier on CMV form 28 along with letter if vehicle is covered by Hypothecation/HPA/Lease agreement
** Pencil print of the chassis number has to affixed on each form of CMV 28.

Delivery of NOC :
** The registered owner should appear in person to submit the application at the Registration Section.
** The registering authority will address a letter to Police authority and obtain a report as to whether the vehicle is involved in theft/criminal case. In addition to this, remarks of different sections of the office will be obtained.
** If no dues are outstanding / DSA cases are not pending and on receipt of clearance from the Police Authorities, No Objection Certificate will be issued.
** Next day of the receipt of the report from Police authority between 4 :30pm and 5:30 pm but not later than 35th day invoking the deemed clause

About Us :
The Department of Transport was constituted by Government Order No.T6811:6865 RT :53-54:10 Dated 03-03-1955 vide Notification 4285-98 MV-23-56-57 Dated 27-08-1956. Then it was named as Motor Vehicles Department. Thereafter, the Department was re-named as TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT.
