What is Bangarutalli Scheme?

Bangarutalli is meant to take care of the girl child in every household from her birth till she completes her graduation. If she gives birth to a baby girl, Rs 2,500 will be deposited into her account. Rs 1000 will be given for the first 2 years at the time of immunization.

Rs 1,500 will be given every year to the family through Anganwadis till the baby attains the age of 5 years from 3rd year onwards. At the time of admission to school, Rs 2,000 will be given every year for her studies from the first to the fifth standard, and Rs 2,500 from sixth to eighth standard, Rs 3,000 for ninth and tenth standard. For the girls study of Intermediate, she will be given Rs 3,500 each year, and Rs 4,000 a year during her graduation.

Eligibility criteria :
A.The Girl child born within “two live births norm” born on or after 1st May 2013
B. Having White ration card like WAP/RAP/TAP/YAP/AAP
C. Institutional delivery in Public or Private hospital (home deliveries are considered in ITDA areas in, only registration is permitted in other areas and the first milestone incentive will not be paid)
D. Mandatory documents (xerox copies) to produce for upload are
a. A copy of the ration card,
b. A copy of date of birth certificate of the girl child/ren,
c. A copy of bank A/c pass book of the mother/father/guardian (in the same order if the prior not having the latter),
d. A copy of Aadhar card (of the one who produced bank A/c),
e. A copy of mother or guardian undertaking
f. Bangaru Talli data input sheet signed by the ANM & Medical Officer
g. Photo of the mother & child together

“Girl child within two live births norm” :
A. It means that the girl children are ineligible if the mother has two living children before May 1st 2013 in spite of any gender.
B.It means that if the twins are born in the first delivery and are living, no more children born in successive deliveries are eligible.
C.It means that if one child born is either boy or girl and living from previous deliveries and any number of girl children born in the next one delivery are eligible

Submission of white ration card :
a. Mother name in any white ration card like in her mother’s or in-law’s card.
b.If mother has no ration card the ration card of the father is also considered.

.Is the girl child born in Other State hospitals from bordered districts of AP eligible :
a. The delivery or birth certificates issued in other state languages or state hospitals can be translated signed and uploaded.

If the mother changes her name or her surname changes after marriage and different names exist in different copies of mandatory documents to upload is she eligible :
a. If the copies are certified for name change they are eligible.

Whom to contact for date of birth certificate of the Girl Child :
a. The certificate issued by the medical officer is accepted.
b. If the baby is born in her grand mother’s village or in towns or cities or in other than resident village, the birth certificate can be availed from the local births and deaths registration authority, the Panchayat Secretary in rural areas and Municipal Commissioner in urban areas.

Whom To Contact For Registration?

a. The Village Organisations at the Village or Mandal Samakhya at the mandal level in rural areas.
b. The Slum Level Federation or Town Level Federation in Urban areas.

If the mother marries to a man who is already married or to a widower having two or more children already is her girl child within two live births norm eligible. :
a. Yes. Registration permitted under “two living children norm”.

If mother is not alive does the girl child eligible :
a. Yes. Either father or guardian can register. The guardian can be anybody including trusts or State home.

1. My baby was born on 15th April 2015. I arranged all required documents but, no one accept the application even I tried in Mandal office also, they said now scheme is stopped. We are waiting for orders from government. Please confirm and guide me.

Additional Simplified Procedure

Here are the steps on how to apply for the Bangarutalli Scheme in Andhra Pradesh:
1. Visit the nearest Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Centre or Mandal/Municipal Implementing Authority (M/MI) office.

2. Submit the following documents:
Birth certificate of the girl child.
Aadhaar card of the mother.
Bank passbook of the mother.
Photo of the mother and the girl child.

3. Fill out the application form and submit it to the ICDS Centre or M/MI office.
4. The application will be processed and the beneficiary will be informed about the status of the application.

Here are some additional tips for applying for the Bangarutalli Scheme in Andhra Pradesh:
** The application form can also be downloaded from the website of the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Andhra Pradesh.

  2. We received the first installment of Rs.2500 but after that no activation. How do we receive the second installment?
