Step 1 :

Step 2 :
Read the instructions mentioned in the File/Forms carefully.

Step 3 :
Complete and attach all the required Documents/Forms as per the CheckList.

Step 4 :
** Submit your complete file & fees at the concerned DL counter at the R&LA office and collect your Fee Receipt.

Step 5 :
Collect your Conductor Licence from the LL Delivery counter at the R&LA Office.

Note :
** This is a downloaded File. In order to deposit the same, the applicant has to collect the ‘File receipt’ from the R&LA File Sale Counter after depositing the concerned File Fee.
** Please bring the original documents whose attested photocopies have been attached with the file.

** Form No. 1 & 1-A PDF (Application-cum-Declaration as to physical fitness & Medical Certificate for obtaining Learner’s/ Driving Licence)
** Form ‘L.CON A’ PDF (Application for Conductor Licence)
** Police Report/Certificate (From the concerned Police Station, duly signed by the SHO).
** Copy of Matriculation Certificate (Including ‘Hindi’ or ‘Punjabi’ as a subject).
** Copy of Address proof (Self attested, for details, “Click Here” ).
** Affidavit PDF for Address Proof (If applicable).

Why do you need a Driving License ?
As per Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a valid Driving License is necessary to drive any motor vehicle on public roads.

Where do you get it ?
At the Office of Registering & Licensing Authority, Sector-17 U.T., Chandigarh.

When do you get it ?
After completion of 16 years of age, for driving motor cycles with engine capacity not exceeding 50cc with the consent of the parent / guardian. After completion of 18 years of age, motor cycles with engine capacity exceeding 50cc and light motor vehicle. After completion of 20 years of age, for an endorsement to drive transport vehicles.

How to get a Driving License ?
There are two stages to get a Permanent Driving License :

** Obtaining a Permanent License

What is the validity of Learner’s License and after how many days applicant apply for Fresh Driving License ?
Learner License is valid for six months and applicant can apply for Fresh Driving License after 30 days from the issue date of Learner License.

Will I have to give the Driving Test for learner’s License ?
No Driving test is required for obtaining a Learning’s License. You have to pass the computer (STALL test).

Is Learner’s License valid outside Chandigarh ?
Yes, Learner’s License is valid throughout India.

What to do if Learner’s License expires ?
A Learner’s License cannot be renewed. In case a Learner’s License expires, a fresh one has to be applied for and obtained.
