Non-Resident Keralites’ Welfare Fund Membership

Every Non-Resident Keralite in the age bracket of 18-55 is entitled to register his/her name as a member of the Fund.

LSG Electin Kerala Voter List

There are four categories of memership in the Welfare Fund. Viz,
1. NRKs who are working abroad (Form No. 1A)
2. NRKs who have returned to Kerala for permanent settlement after a foreign employment for a period of not less than 2 years (Form No. 1B)
3. NRKs who are working in India but outside Kerala (Form No. 2A)
4. Deemed NRKs who have returned to Kerala for permanent settlement from the category of (3)

The registration fee is Rs. 200
The fee may be remitted into any branch of Indian Bank or State Bank of Travancore using prescribed pay-in-slip which is available in “Registration forms”.

Benefits to Member

** Pension to members and deemed members who remitted contributions to the Welfare Fund continuously for a period of not less than five years and who completed the age of Sixty years
** Family pension on the death of a member or a deemed member who had remitted contribution for not less than five years.
** Financial assistance on the death of a member due to illness or accident.
** Financial assistance for medical treatment of the members affected with serious illnesses
** Financial assistance for marriage of women members and daughters of the members and for maternity benefit to women members.
** Financial assistance or loans or advances to members for the construction of dwelling houses or for the purchase of land and building or for the purchase of land or for the maintenance of house.
** Financial assistance for education including higher education to the children of members.
** Self employment assistance to reputed persons
** Financial assistance to members incapacitated to attend work due to permanent physical disability
** Financial assistance investment in any company or firm or co-operative society or institution constituted under the Act.

Welfare Schemes

The Non-Resident Keralites’ Welfare Fund Act, 2008 has developed some welfare schemes for the benefits of Non-Resident Keralites, such as pension scheme, family pension scheme, pension scheme for invalids, scheme for financial assistance to dependents of a deceased member, scheme for financial assistance for medical treatment, accident –cum-death insurance scheme, scheme for assistance for marriage of daughters of members, scheme for payment of financial assistance for maternity, scheme for payment of educational grant, scheme for payment of loan for housing & self-employment, etc.

What is the Non-Resident Keralites’ Welfare Fund (NRKWF)?
