Marketing is another crucial area which seals the fate of any industrial unit. MSSIDC plays a major role in providing Marketing Assistance to Small Scale Industries’ Units.

Small Scale Industries’ Units having permanent registration with the Directorate of Industries are eligible for Marketing Assistance Scheme of MSSIDC. But to avail this facility, they also need to register themselves with MSSIDC.
Procedure for Registration:
1) Unit has to be registered with IDC of the district, Directorate of Industries, Department of Industries, Government of Maharashtra. This is one time procedure.
2) The Unit has to submit application to register with MSSIDC in the prescribed format of MSSIDC.
3) The Application Form is available at the Divisional Offices and Branch Offices of the MSSIDC OR it can be downloaded from the Website.
4) Registration Fee of Rs. 2000/- needs to be submitted in Cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of MSSIDC Limited.
5) The Unit should submit the registration fee along with the Application Form and the required documents.
6) The Application Form will be scrutinised by the concerned Division or Branch Office and the concerned officer will pay visit to the Unit for inspection.
7) The Registration process will be completed only after the recommendation of visiting officer.
8) After 3 years, the unit is required to renew its registration with MSSIDC. The unit will not be considered for circulation of enquiries till the registration is renewed.

Coir :
Coir, being a natural fiber that is environment friendly in the strickest Sense of the term, is now seen as the fiber of the future. The eco friendly quality of coir will help it to hold its ground even as it battles competition from synthetic fiber.
Coconut husk is the raw material for coir industry which is considered a cottage Industry on its spinning side and on manufacturing side of finished goods, it is partly cottage and partly industry.
The coconut is grown in Konkan region of Maharashtra having coconut plantation on large scale giving scope to coir industries. Sindhudurd has the area of 16609 Hectares under coconut plantation i.e. 51.64 per cent of the area under coconut plantation in Konkan Region.
