Handloom’s Scheme :
1. Publicity & Propaganda Scheme for Handloom Apex Institutions :
This scheme is for the Handloom Apex Institutions to boost up its selling by publicity & propaganda through participating in various fairs & exhibitions in state and in other state.

Eligibility :
** Handloom Apex Institutions
** Cooperative Societies registered with Apex institutions
** Individual Handloom Weaver registered with Handloom Corporation
Financial Assistance :
i. For participating in Handloom Exhibition/Fairs
a. Within the state Rs.70000 per Exhibition.
b. Other State Rs.150000 per Exhibition
ii. Publicity & Propaganda Rs.100000 per Annum
ii. For arranging Workshop or Seminar Rs.25000 per Annum
2. Mill Gate Price :
However Gujarat weavers are purchasing second grade yarn at cheaper rate from open market due to price benefit. The use of inferior quality yarn result in law quality production.
If the weavers of Gujarat get first grade quality yarn at rate available in the market for second quality they can produce best quality competitive products. There is need to provide yarn at reasonable rate to handloom weavers.
Financial assistance :
10% subsidy has given to societies on purchasing of Hank Yarn from N.H.D.C. Depot. Gujarat State Handloom and Handicraft Corporation authorised under N.H.D.C. So, 10% subsidy has also given to societies who purchase Yarn from corporation.
3. 10% Special Rebate Scheme :
It is essential to support marketing facilities to Industrial Co-operatives and Apex Societies on similar way the benefit given to the Gujarat Handloom Handicrafts Development Corporation. 10% Special Rebate Scheme for 120 days during Festival has been proposed.
Financial assistance :
10% rebate has given on sale of handloom products during the Festival time period decided by Commissioner, Cottage & Rural Industries Gandhinagar.
4. Improved Handloom to Individual Weavers :
Many individual weavers are working on old looms and not getting reasonable earning of their product. It is necessary to provide modern looms with accessories to handloom weavers.
It is necessary to introduce new scheme for ensure reasonable earning of their products. It is necessary to provide improved handlooms with accessories to handloom weavers.
Financial assistance :
Under this scheme the Handloom upto Rs.21622/-(i.e. 65% of subsidy means Rs.14054.30 & 35% weavers contribution means Rs.7567.70) has provided as per specifications through GRIMCO.
About Us :
Cottage and Rural Industries department activities were initially functioning through Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Gujarat state, Gandhinagar.
But due to extent of activities, separate setup was required for execution and hence Industries, Mines and Power department(Government of Gujarat) has established new department at state level by issuing resolution of sanctioning the post of “Directorate of Cottage and Industrial Cooperatives.”
Afterwards the post head of the department was sanctioned as “Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural Industries” by issuing resolution from Industries and Mines department.
