1. Whether the claims of the retired Self Drawing Officers to be presented compulsorily through Bank?
Not necessary. The retired self drawing officer can prefer his claim through the Tamil Nadu Treasury Code 70 Register of the office in which he last served.

Presenting his claims through bank is an alternate option in the event of the retired self drawing officer residing in far off place or he could not appear in person.

2. Eligibility of Surrender of Earned Leave as per Annual Cycle.
The Government employee can avail the encashment of Surrender Leave after one year from the date of last surrender ( annual cycle) or after the due date, on the date of his choice. The main criteria is that there should be an interval of one year between two encashment.

3. How to get family pension ?
Immediately on the death of the Pensioner the Treasury / Bank from where the pension is being received should be informed of the death in writing enclosing death certificate. (if available)

If it is a joint PPO, the spouse should go over to the concerned Treasury in person submit an application to the Treasury Officer/Assistant Treasury Officer /Sub Treasury Officer for sanction of LTA/F.P along with form 14 (which is available in the Treasury) and after due verification and mustering, the Family Pension will be commenced from the next date of the death of the pensioner.

4. When will the Pension /Family Pension be stopped ?
a) If the Pensioner / Family Pensioner does not either appear in person for mustering or send Life Certificate to the Treasury / Pension Pay Office (under pilot scheme) to the Branch Manager (under PSB scheme) annually

b) If the pension is not drawn continuously for six months
c) If the Family Pensioner does not submit non-marriage / non-re-marriage/non-employment certificate every year.

In Tamil Nadu, originally, all the Treasuries were functioning under the control of Revenue Department. In 1954, The Pay and Accounts Office was formed in Chennai, ( Madras City ) combining the work of Treasury functions and audit functions, under the administrative control of Finance Department.The Department of Treasuries and Accounts was formed in 1962.

With the formation of the Directorate, all the District Treasuries in the State ( 12 Districts at that time excluding Chennai) and Sub Treasuries under their control and the Pay and Accounts Office Chennai were brought under the control of Treasuries and Accounts Department with overall administrative control of Finance Department.
