Apply For Admission to 3rd Fellowship IPDF Programme :
Applications are invited for admission to 3rd phase of Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) programme at IIT Guwahati in the Department of Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Design, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics.

Completed applications in all respect received by the Academic Affairs Section of IITG on or before March 16, 2015 (Monday) will only be considered for the Third phase of Interview. The candidate may send the soft copy first to meet the deadline, followed by the hard copy. Candidates failing to send the applications within the deadline (March 16, 2015), will be considered in the next phase.
Eligibility :
Ph.D degree holders are eligible to apply within five years after completion of Ph.D. Maximum Age is 35 years {relaxable by 5 years for women and reserved (SC/ST/ PwD) category}
Selection Procedure :
** The applications received by the Academic Section will be forwarded to the respective Departments for short listing of candidates to be called for interview. The concerned departments will send back the applications along with recommendations to the Academic Section.
** The softcopy as well as hard copy of the interview call letters will be sent to the shortlisted candidates by the Academic Section.
** Candidates called for interview are eligible for reimbursement of to and fro AC II tier railway fare by the shortest route.
** For a selected candidate who had obtained his/her PhD from IIT Guwahati, the mentor faculty member shall be other than the candidate’s PhD Supervisor (s).
Duration :
The duration of the fellowship will be initially for a period of 2 years, extendable for a further period of one more year based on the progress of the IPDF and the recommendation of Performance Assessment Committee (PAC).
Assignments :
Apart from the research pursued by the IPDF, services of the postdoctoral fellows will be utilized by the concerned departments up to 8 hours per week for academic assistance in the departmental work including teaching, handling of tutorials and laboratory work.

Fellowship Amount :
Between Rs.40,000 – 50,000 consolidated (depending upon the area of experience and qualification) The starting fellowship will be Rs 40,000/- consolidated per month, which may get enhanced by a consolidated amount of Rs 5000/- every year based on assessment and recommendation of PAC. The starting fellowship can be high but within Rs 50,000/- for exceptionally bright candidates.

Suitable Hostel / Campus accommodation as per IIT norms will be provided if requested and subject to availability
