How To Do EPFO Universal Account Number Registration?
A Universal Account Number (UAN) will be generated for each of the PF contributing members during the period 01/01/2014 to 30/06/2014 by EPFO. The UAN will act as an umbrella for the multiple Member Ids allotted to an individual by different establishments.

EPFO Know Your EPF Balance
The idea is to link multiple Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) allotted to a single member under single Universal Account Number. This will help the member to view details of all the Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) linked to it.
If a member is already allotted Universal Account Number (UAN) then he / she is required to provide the same on joining new establishment to enable the employer to in-turn mark the new allotted Member Identification Number (Member Id) to the already allotted Universal Identification Number (UAN).
The main objective behind this new function is to capture KYC details of its members in order to eliminate the dependency on the employer and improve the quality of service.

What is EPFO UAN Member Portal?
** EPFO has launched an Universal Account Number (UAN) based Member Portal to provide a number of facilities to its members through a single window
** Activate your registration to avail various facilities such as UAN card download, member passbook, updation of KYC information etc.
** As of now, only active members (contribution received through ECR for the wage month October 2013 onwards) would be able to register themselves.
** For registration, obtain UAN from your employer alongwith your member ID.
** Your mobile number would be required to activate registration.
Note:
** A member can view the passbooks of the EPF accounts which has been tagged with UAN.
** The facility of passbook is not available for members of establishments having exemption under the EPF Scheme 1952.

1. How can I activate my UAN? I am an employee of Utkal Grameen Bank. My surname is wrongly posted as Pattanaik instead of Nayak. I have been already informed to our HO for rectification with evidence. HO has been informed the PF commissioner for rectification. But, I am sorry to say it is yet to be rectified.

Features of EPFO UAN Portal
The Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) UAN Portal is a web-based platform that provides a variety of services to employees and employers.

Additional Simplified Procedure
Here are the steps on how to register for an EPFO Universal Account Number (UAN) online:
1. Go to the EPFO website: https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
2. Click on the “UAN Registration” link.
3. Enter your Aadhaar number and password.
4. Click on the “Login” button.
5. If you do not have an Aadhaar number, you can register for one online through the UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/
6. Once you have logged in, you will be able to see your UAN.
7. If you do not have a UAN, you can apply for one by clicking on the “Apply for UAN” link.
8. You will need to provide your personal details, including your name, date of birth, and bank account details.
9. You will also need to upload a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card.
10. Once you have submitted your application, your UAN will be generated and sent to you via SMS.
