Punjab UID has set up state resident data hub (SRDH) which comprises of UID numbers and associated demographic data of Punjab residents.

For leveraging the availability of this comprehensive database, SMS based Aadhaar services have been introduced for obtaining the Aadhaar number. This will particularly be helpful for residents who haven’t received physical copy of Aadhaar. Once a request in initiated, resulting information is automatically sent back as a reply.
Steps for using this service are specified as under :
Step 1. : The resident will send a request SMS to fetch his/her UID number, in case it is not readily available, in the below specified format.
PB UID <14 or 28 Digit Enrolment No.> to 51969
Example: If Enrollment Number : 1111/22222/33333, Enrollment Date: 01/06/2014 and Enrolment Time: 12:23:34, then 28 digit enrollment number would be : 1111222223333301062014122334
else 14 digit enrollment number would be : 11112222233333
Case 1.) If the EID provided by the resident matches with a record in SRDH, then the resident receives his/her UID via reply SMS.
Your Aadhaar No. is ” + UID + ” Please visit Suwidha Center to get a copy of eAadhaar letter. Kindly give one photocopy of eAadhaar to your gas agency, bank and food & supplies inspector.
Case 2.) However, if the EID provided by the resident doesn’t match with any record in SRDH, then the resident receives a reply SMS.
Step 2. : If 14 digit Enrollment number sent by resident has more than one UID, resident should send complete 28 digit Enrolment number in above prescribed format.
Dear resident, we are unable to locate your Aadhaar No. with the information provided. Please provide your complete 28 digit EID including date and time..

What Is Aadhaar ?
** Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India.
** This number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.

How To Get Aadhaar?
** The process to get an Aadhaar will be circulated by the local media upon which residents need to go to the nearest Enrolment Camp to register for an Aadhaar.

** The resident primarily needs to carry certain documents which will be specified in the media advertisement.
** Upon registering for Aadhaar, residents will go through a biometric scanning of ten fingerprints and iris.

** They will then be photographed and given an enrolment number upon completion.
** Depending on the enrolment agency, residents will be issued an Aadhaar number within 60 to 90 days.
