How To Book Air Tickets On IRCTC?
It is very simple to book air tickets on IRCTC. Simply enter your arrival and departure destination, number of passengers, travel class and departure date to get a list of all the available flights and click on book now to reserve your preferred flight.
Steps:
Step-1 : Go to the link given above
Step-2 : Log in using your IRCTC account credentials or proceed as a guest user.
Step-3 : Choose your trip type (One-Way or Round Trip / Multi-City).
Step-4 : Enter your origin, destination, departure date (and return date if applicable), number of passengers, and travel class.
Step-5 : Select special fare categories if applicable (such as Student, Senior Citizen, Defence Personnel, or Government Employee / LTC fare).
Step-6 : Click Search to view the list of available flights, price slabs, and timings.
Step-7 : Choose the preferred flight and select your seat, meal, and baggage preferences.
Step-8 : Fill in the required passenger details accurately (verify name spellings against government ID).
Step-9 : If booking under the Government Employee / LTC scheme, enter your ID number at checkout.
Step-10 : Agree to the terms and conditions.
Step-11 : Proceed to the payment gateway which supports over 50 options including UPI/BHIM, credit/debit cards, net banking, EMI, and IRCTC Pay.
Step-12 : Click Pay and Book to finalize your ticket.
IRCTC Air Tickets Cancellation Process
A. Cancellation of tickets with more than 24 hours of scheduled departure time (domestic travel) and more than 72 hours of scheduled departure time (International Travel) Cancellation of tickets can be done either by logging on the IRCTC account (online) or by calling on the customer care number toll free number (offline). 1800110139. Else you may cancel your ticket by calling up the concerned airline directly.
Online Cancellation :
To cancel the tickets online, Users shall have to complete the following procedure:
** Log onto www.irctc.co.in / air.irctc.co.in
** Click on the Sign in link at the top
** Click on My Account and request for cancellation against the air tickets you have booked.
** The User can both select and cancel his/her entire booking or part of the booking.
** If the online cancellation is not working or user is not able to cancel the air ticket online, it is user’s responsibility to reach out to IRCTC via phone and get the ticket cancelled.
** A confirmation of cancellation will be sent via sms and email to the User.
User will not be able to use the online flight cancellation facility if an infant is accompanying an adult. For all such cancellations, the user will have to use the offline cancellation process.
Offline Cancellation:
Ofline cancellation can be done by calling on the customer care toll free number (offline). 1800110139 between 8AM to 10PM, 7 days a week and subsequently sending an e-mail from your registered email id at flights@irctc.co.in (please note refund will be processed only after receipt of request on mail )
B. Cancellation of tickets within 24 hours of scheduled departure time (domestic travel) and more than 72 hours of scheduled departure time (International Travel).
The User will have to contact the nearest airline office (of the concerned airline) to get his/her reservation cancelled. IRCTC is in no way responsible to ensure that the ticket shall be cancelled and the sole liability to confirm the same with the airline shall lie with the User.
All cancellations done directly with the Airlines website/ office or call centre need to be intimated to IRCTC by sending mail at flights@irctc.co.in through the registered Email id along with documentary proof/ correspondence or a copy of e- ticket duly stamped by the airlines in order to initiate the refunds process.
Please Note:
** Ticket can be cancelled at IRCTC for the complete journey (Origin to destination) for any passenger, no partial journey cancellation is allowed in case of connecting/via flights / Special fare flight for any passenger.
** In case of cases where airlines has cancelled the flights, please send us stamped (or endorsed) copy of ticket from the airlines mentioning “full refund is due”. IRCTC may not get any alert directly from the airlines for flight cancellation.
** In case of amendments done through airlines, please send us both old and new endorsed tickets.
** Refunds of tickets for past dated sector/ where cancellation has been done directly with airlines/ where flights have been cancelled by the airlines, may take more time depending on the revert from the airlines.
** Only cancellation requests made online or telephonic through our customer support shall be entertained. IRCTC shall not be liable to entertain any cancellation requests made through any other medium including but not limited to sms, e-mail.
Cancellation Charges :
“Cancellation charges of airlines are subject to change and would be applicable as per airlines policies at the time of cancellation.” The cancellation charges are dependent on airlines/ fares/ fare structure and time of cancellation and solely on discretion of airlines.
For all Refundable class tickets, the airline cancellation fee is charged per sector per passenger. Please note that cancellation charges are subject to change by the Airline at its sole discretion and without notice to IRCTC. The cancellation charges may be verified at the time of cancellation with the airline by the User.
For International Travel:
Please check with the respective airlines for the cancellation/changes charges. Please note that cancellation charges are subject to change by the Airline at its sole discretion and without notice to IRCTC.
For all Non refundable class tickets, the airline cancellation fee will be as per the applicable airlines rules. This is not applicable on any promotional fares offered by airlines as cancellations charges for those will depend on the promotional offer.
In addition to the above cancellation charges, IRCTC will charge a standard cancellation charge of INR 250 (Domestic Travel) and INR 500 (International Travel) per person per segment (sector)in case of online cancellation and INR 250 (Domestic Travel) and INR. 500 (International Travel) per person per segment (Sector) in case of offline cancellation.
The aforesaid amount of INR 250 (Domestic Travel) and INR 500 (International Travel) per person per segment (sector) may be changed by IRCTC at its sole discretion and without notice to the User.
