E-Registration

This service will enable the citizens to fill the online form and apply for the Registration Certificate issued by the Taxation Department, Government of Meghalaya.

Any potential dealer can apply for Tax Identification Number (TIN) in order to be able to transact a commercial business in the State. The online form is designed as per the format laid down in Meghalaya VAT Rule 2005

How to Avail :
After the dealers has input the data and submitted the form successfully, an application number will be generated by the system.

Using this application number the applicant will be able to track the status of the application.

While the application form is being processed by the concerned Taxation Circle Office, the applicant will be intimated by email/SMS as to when he/she has to furnish the documents for verification, when to pay the registration fees and also when to collect the Registration Certificate when the transaction is completed.

E-Return (Online filing of returns for Dealers of Taxation Department):
In the VAT regime, registered dealers have to do the self-assessment of the business transactions (Sales & Purchases) and details has to be submitted in the Return Form along with Challan Receipts to the department every quarter of the Financial Year.

The e-Return module enables the dealers to file and furnish the quarterly Returns statement online through the web portal.

Most of the calculations in the form have been automated in system which helps the dealer to furnish the data correctly.

The tax paid by the dealer during the quarter through e-Payment System or through Treasury Challans are incorporated in the e-Return form for easy assessment by the applicant.

How to Avail :
Only the Registered Dealers of the Taxation Department, Govt. of Meghalaya who possess a valid TIN & CST registration No. issued by the Taxation Department and generated by the back-end application can access this application.

Dealers, who use the application for the first time, must get themselves registered using the New User link and obtain a user ID and Password.

Once registered, the dealer can login to the site and file his/her return online.

About Meghalaya Government :
The Government of Meghalaya is also known as the State Government of Meghalaya or locally as State Government. It is the supreme governing authority of the state of Meghalaya and its 11 districts. The Districts are further divided into Subdivisions and Blocks.

There are a total of 4 subdivisions and 39 blocks in Meghalaya. The Blocks are further subdivided into Gram Sevak Circles. There are 15 Gram Sevak Circles in each Block. The Deputy Commissioner is the head of the district administration.
