Civil Defence :
Civil Defence is an effort to protect the citizens of a state measures not amounting to actual combat for providing protection to any person, property, place against hostile attacks and during internal disturbances

It uses the principles of emergency operations : mitigation, prevention, and preparedness for disaster as also for response and relief after disaster.

Rakshita Initiative :
Rakshita is an initiative by the DM East Office to promote driving of public vehicles by the women. These days Delhi is witnessing events which is are creating a sense of insecurity among females which is not good for a healthy society.

A nation cannot modernize itself if 50% of the populace feels insecure and constantly remain in fear. A fearless, self-reliant and confident woman creates a safe society. In order to achieve it, it is felt that unless women does not themselves come out and drive public vehicles, women commuter cannot get safety feeling.

Rakshita initiative was launched to address all the issues related to women driver by tying up different components of driving and converging services provided by different Govt Agencies, NGOs, willing persons in following field

** Driving Training,
** Driving License Issuance,
** Loans For Vehicle Purchase,
** Training for self defence
** Behavioural Training,
** Crèche For Small Children

Introduction:
The District of East, Delhi is located on the other side of River Yamuna or in the Trans-Yamuna area. It is bounded by the border of Uttar Pradesh comprising of Noida and Ghaziabad.It has a elevation of 239 Mtrs above sea level.

About Us :
The District is headed by the District Magistrate followed by an Additional District Magistrate (ADM) as second-in-command. The district is divided into 3 subdivisions and one Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) is head of each subdivision.

Each Subdivision is having revenue and clerical staff for its various functions. For revenue functions each subdivision has Tehsildar, Naib-Tehsildar, Kanungo and Patwaris in that order. For other functions, there is clerical staff.

The three subdivisions are :

2. Gandhi Nagar
3. Mayur Vihar
