Additional Simplified Procedure

Here are the steps on how to apply for a divergence certificate in Goa:
1) Go to the Goa government’s online portal, goaonline.gov.in.
2) Log in to your account or create a new one if you don’t have one yet.
3) Under the “Department Services” tab, select “Revenue” and then “Divergence Certificate”.
4) Download and fill out the application form.
5) Submit the application form along with the documents to the mamlatdar’s office in the taluka where you reside.
6) You will receive the divergence certificate within 15 working days.

Attach the following documents to the application form:
1) Self-attested copies of your birth certificate, school leaving certificate, marriage certificate (if applicable), and any other documents that show the divergence in your name.
2) A self-declaration stating that you are the same person with the different names mentioned in the documents.
3) A fee of Rs. 100.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when applying for a divergence certificate in Goa:
1) You can also apply for a divergence certificate offline by submitting the application form and documents to the mamlatdar’s office in person.
2) The validity period of a divergence certificate is lifelong.
3) You can use a divergence certificate to prove your identity and to correct your name in official records.
