Redressal of Public Grievances:

The cell for the redressal of public grievances was set up in 1993 to constantly monitor public grievances received from different sources and ensures timely disposal of public complaints. Every week Wednesday forenoon is observed as Meetingless Day in all the offices of the Board.

Online Public Grievances:
** The disposal of public grievances needs to be given the attention it deserves. The Directorate of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievance (DARPG) has opened a portal for redressal of online public grievances, where public can directly file their grievances and also receive replies online.

** The online Public Grievances redressal portal of the board is active and the replies can be accessed through CPGRAMS by public. Every care is being taken to handle the grievance in the most efficient, effective and realistic manner. In order to ensure prompt disposal, Nodal Officers have been appointed in each department under the supervision of senior officers.

All grievances relating to State Governments / Union Territory Administrations and Government of NCT Region of Delhi, are to be redressed by the State/ UT/ NCT Government concerned. Citizens are advised to take up matter regarding pendency of their grievance directly with the State Government concerned.

How do I lodge the grievance?
** The grievances can be lodged online on pgportal.gov.in.

** In cases where internet facility is not available or even otherwise, the citizen is free to send her/his grievance by Post. There is no prescribed format.
** The grievance may be written on any plain sheet of paper or on a Postcard / Inland letter and addressed to the Department.

What happens when I lodge the grievance?
The grievance is acknowledged online or by post. A unique registration number is given to each grievance.

How do I track my grievance?
It may be tracked on the pgportal by clicking view status and entering the unique registration number.

What happens to the grievances? How are the grievances dealt with in Central Ministries/Departments?
Every Central Ministry / Department has designated a Joint Secretary or a Director / Deputy Secretary, as its ‘Director of Grievances’. He / She is the nodal officer for redress of grievances on work areas allocated to that particular Ministry / Department.

** A trail of developments mark the significant changes that took place over the years in shaping up the Board to its present status. U P Board of High School and Intermediate Education was the first Board set up in 1921. It has under its jurisdiction Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior.

** In response to the representation made by the Government of United Provinces, the then Government of India suggested to set up a joint Board in 1929 for all the areas which was named as the ‘Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana’. This included Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior.
