How To Get GHMC Senior Citizen ID Cards?

Identity cum Privilege cards are being issued to the Senior Citizens free of cost after duly obtaining information in the prescribed format along with age, residential proof, and two passport size photos. More than 1,04,000 Senior Citizen ID cards have been issued so far.

** Basic requirement to prove physical aides to the needy, Legal and Health issues.

To get Registered in :
Fill all the details in Aasara application, enclose age proof, residence proof and 2 passport size photos. Then submit in UCD section of concerned circle of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation offices.

Senior Citizen associations :
Senior Citizen Associations are being formed at Circle level to share their emotional feelings to each other and also to promote Aasara activities among all Senior citizens at ground level. Accordingly 175 Senior citizen Associations are formed so far.

Establishment of Day Care Centers :
Day care centers are established to develop the social relations and to overcome the loneliness among Senior Citizens. TheseCenters are acting like mini cultural centers. Day Care Centers are established by providing playing material like Carom boards, Chess boards, Exercise Bicycle, Chairs,Almirah, Tables, TV, Weighing machine, etc. So far 98 Day Care Centers are established.

Guidelines for the establishment of Day Care centers

i) New day care center& Additional material :
1) It should be registered as Senior Citizen Association under societies Act
2) Minimum 50 members should be as members
3) Should have sufficient accommodation and space

4) At least one Day Care Center in each Division
5) No Day Care Center should be established within 1km radius of the existing Day Care Centre, even it is in the adjacent colony.

6) Then submit a representation to concerned Circle Deputy Commissioner containing the details –registration details, no. of members, availability of space & accommodation and commitment to take care of issued material. Material will be issued after inspection and processing of file.

ii) Caretaker Honorarium :
Honorarium of Rs.3,000/- per month to be paid to all the working Day Care Centers as the norms.

Procedure to apply is :
A representation addressed to concern Circle Deputy Commissioner containing the details of no. of members in the particular association and no. of senior citizens are attending daily, person appointed as care taker. Attach attendance register of Day care center and photos if any. Honorarium will be given only after physical verification and satisfaction.

Functions of GHMC

Here are the steps on how to apply for a GHMC Senior Citizen ID:

2. Click on the “Aasara” tab.
3. Click on the “Senior Citizen ID Card” link.
4. Fill out the online application form.
5. Upload the required documents.
6. Pay the application fee of INR 50.00.
7. Submit your application.
