Funding :
The administrative cost of TSSM and TSSC shall be met by the Rural Development with specific budgetary allocation provided by the Government of Telangana. Additional funds for programs can be dovetailed by Government of India Skill Programs.

About TSSM

Government of Telangana proposes to launch Telangana State Skill Mission program to skill 5 lakh unemployed youth and the students coming out of the educational institutions before 2019 an APEX BODY – Telangana State Skill Council (TSSC) under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister to give policy direction to the Mission; and TELANGANA STATE SKILL MISSION (TSSM) to implement the program under the direction of APEX BODY will shortly be in place.

TSSM shall be registered as a society under the Societies Act and shall be reporting directly to the Chairman of the TSSC. The TSSM shall have a Chairman (Full time), A Mission Director (A senior IAS officer on deputation) and as many professionals / functional specialists as required on contract basis to fulfil the objectives set out for the Mission.

Objective :
** To integrate the policies of Government in Industries, service agriculture and IT in a manner that skill component is also included in the respective policies. Incentives directly lead to sustainable employment.

** To realize the potential of providing access to skill 5 lakh youth in identified sectors of growth.
** To co-ordinate public / private sector initiatives in the framework of collaborative action; and to prepare sectorial Joint Action Plans (JAPs) with the private sector covering all four employment potential sectors.

The TSSM shall have the following arms :
1. Skill Sub-Mission for Industries (SSI) : Responsible for identification, skill training and employment of unemployed youth in rural and urban areas, headed by the Commissioner, Industries.

2. Skill Sub-Mission for Agriculture and Allied Sectors (SSA) : Responsible for identification, training and employment of unemployed youth in urban and rural areas, headed by Commissioner, Agriculture.

3. Skill Sub-Mission for IT Sector (SSIT) : Responsible for training and placement of students passing out of the technical & professional institutions by establishing an organic linkage between the academic institutions and industries/services, to be headed by Secretary, IT.

4. Skill Sub-Mission for Services Sector (SSS) : This will be headed by Mission Director of TSSM and will cater to all training needs of service sectors and any other sector not covered by either 3 Missions.
