New Atta Dal Scheme

** No. of beneficiaries 1.42 crores.
** Eldest Woman will be the family head.

** Wheat will be given at Re 1 per kg.
** The annual entitlement will be given at one go.
** The distribution will be done at the doorstep of the beneficiary directly by the department.
** The beneficiary gets to keep the wheat bags in which he gets the grains.
** The beneficiary will have to have aadhar card(june onwards).
** The beneficiary can go to the consumer court if he does not get wheat as per his entitlement.
** Wheat will be delivered in 30 kg standard packing.
** The department officials, the beneficiary, the transporter, the village panchayat , the nigraan committee- all will to work in coordination.
** No upper cap. Every member gets five kg wheat per month.
** Annual quota of wheat will be given in one go.

State Consumer Helpline (180030011007) :
It has been decided by Department of consumer affairs at national level that consumer helpline may be established at level of the state governments for boosting consumer movement in the country.

It will provide counselling on all products and services in regional, Hindi and English language. It will also function as a source centre with complete database of all required information necessary for counselling. State Consumer Helpline for Punjab is 180030011007.

Objectives :
** Development of resource centre at state level which will be networked with national resource centre.
** Develop Alternate Consumer Disputes Redressal mechanism at State Level.
** Maximum no. of disputes resolved out of court.

** Early resolution of complaints.
** Reach out to rural consumers.
** Capacity building of State level VCOs.

** State level machinery gets experience.
** Companies and service providers become more active in solving consumer disputes.
** Provide service in regional language in addition to English language.
