Yeshasvini Trust Cooperative Farmers Health Care Scheme

“Yeshasvini Cooperative Farmers Health Care Scheme” (Yeshasvini Scheme) was introduced by the State Government to the Co-operative farmers of Karnataka.

Then the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri S.M.Krishna inaugurated the scheme on 14th of November 2002 and the scheme was operationalised with effect from 1st June 2003. Karnataka has become role model state with the introduction of ‘Yeshasvini Self Funded Health Care Scheme’.

Salient Features of Yeshasvini Farmers Health Care Scheme

** To avail the benefit of Yeshasvini Scheme, a person should be a member of Rural Co-operative Society of the State.
** All family members of the main member are eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme though they are not members of a rural co-operative society.
** Each beneficiary is required to pay prescribed rate of annual contribution every year. Presently [2013-14] member contribution is Rs.210/-.
** The period of each enrollment commences from July and closes by October every year.
** The higher age limit fixed is 75 years for availing benefit under the scheme.
** The Scheme Commences from 1st of August and ends 31st of July every year.
** The Scheme covers entire state of Karnataka particularly Rural Areas excluding Corporation and Urban cities.

Eligibility Criteria of Yeshasvini Farmers Health Care Scheme

** In the beginning of scheme plan was open to all members, spouse, dependent children and married daughters were eligible to avail benefit in their husband’s family only.
** Eligible Ages of insured are from newborn to 75 years and should not have completed 75 years of age.
** A person (he/she) a member of cooperative society at least for period of six months prior to the date of commencement of the Scheme every year i.e. 1st June.

Enrollment Procedure :
** The Board of Directors and employees of Rural Cooperative Societies with the support / assistance of Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies of the Districts, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies of Sub divisions and Cooperative Development Officers of Taluk are involved in enrollment of Fresh / Renewal beneficiaries, issue of receipts and collection of premium from the beneficiaries and remitting the amount to the Trust Account in District Central Cooperative Banks (DCC Banks).
** DCC Banks Transfers contribution received from societies to the Trust Account in Apex Bank at Bangalore.
** Normally new enrollment / renewal of membership commences from January/February every year by issue of enrollment guidelines by the Department of Cooperation, Government of Karnataka.
** Membership enrollment closes by the end of July / August every year.
** The local co-operative society, with the assistance of the co-operative department, signs up the members, issues a receipt and deposits the premium with a local co-operative bank, prior to the start of the plan year.
