MEITY National Award Scheme
The objective of the scheme for presentation of National Awards in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Sector is to recognize the achievements of successful industry in the ESDM sector, to encourage entrepreneurs, new investments and innovation in the sector through prestigious National Awards.

Area of coverage
The award will be distributed to entrepreneurs in the electronics sector for outstanding efforts in the following categories
(1) National Award for Best Exporter (Two-First and second). The first award of Rs 10 Lakhs and second award of Rs. 5 Lakhs.
(ii) National Award for Best Innovation (Two- First and Second). The first award of Rs. 10 Lakhs and second award of Rs. 5 Lakhs..
(iii) National Award for fastest growth (Two- First and Second). The first award of Rs. 10 Lakhs and the second award of Rs. 5 Lakhs.
(iv) National award for fastest growth in MSME (Three- First, second and third). The first award of Rs 5 Lakhs and second award of Rs 3 Lakhs and 3rd award is Rs 2 Lakhs.
(v) National Award for best EMC (One Rs. 5 Lakhs).
(vi) National award for best start up in ESDM- (Two- First and second). The first award of Rs. 10 Lakhs and second award of Rs 5 Lakhs.
(vii) National award in Exemplary work in ESDM sector- One no cash.
(viii) National Award for new companies established after ESDM policies (Two-First and second). The first award of Rs 10 Lakhs and second award of Rs 5 Lakhs.
Implementation
** The eligible enterprises or their representatives will send their nominations in the prescribed format in duplicate (With Original/ Downloaded only on the prescribed form) through their respective Industry Associations in ESDM sector.
** Applicants may apply for awards in more than one category.
** Separate application is required for each category.
** The Industry Associations after proper screening will send the same to National Level Award Committee (NLAC).
** Each industry Association may forward maximum five applications in each category.
** The NLAC will prepare the final list of awards winners.
** The NLAC may institute such enquiries as may necessary to satisfy themselves that the entrepreneur has been abiding all statutory requirements in vogue, maintaining the proper documentation and is also not involved in any economic / other offence for which enquiry / legal action is pending.
** Representative of DeitY may visit the manufacturing premises to verify the information furnished in the application, if required.
Composition of NLAC
The NLAC may compose of the following :
i) GC(Electronics), DeitY, Chairman,
ii) Representative of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
iii) Representative of Department of Science and Technology (DST)
iv) Representative of Directorate General of Foreign Trade(DGFT)
v) Representative of Financial Institution (FI) to be nominated from Government of India
vi) Nodal officer from DeitY would be member convener.
Privileges
** The award winners will be given lowest economy air fare for two to and fro journey performed by them by the shortest route from the location of the unit and daily allowance as per government rules to attend the Award function.
** The winners of awards shall have the privilege of using the symbol of the award their letter heads and their employee can wear labels, pins, ties, or other distinctive badge with Award symbol indicating the year of the Award.
Duration
The scheme is initially for three years for every calendar year.
