About Tripura ePass :
Online Post Matric Scholarships disbursements through ePass application is one of the important welfare measures of the Government of Tripura which is aimed at the educational upliftment of students Below poverty line(BPL), initiated by the Department of SC-OBC Welfare and NEC.
The system links all welfare departments, treasury, databases of Secondary Schools Certificate (SSC), colleges and banks to disburse scholarships. This system enables online transfer of Post Matric scholarship money to students below the Poverty Line, wherein directly tuition fee reimbursement is made to colleges and maintenance fee to the student after due verifications into respective bank accounts. Processing of students’ applications for scholarships, sanctioning and passing of bills for disbursement are enabled in the system.

Scholarship is a boon for students, belonging to the weaker sections of the society, who are unable to further their education for some reason or the other. Scholarship is an incentive as well as encouragement for students, who are talented, but do not have the means to study further. There are a variety of scholarships – merit-based, need-based, student-specific, career-specific, and college-specific. The Ministry offers National as well as External Scholarships to the needy students.

1. What is NEC stipend & Bookgrant?
These stipends and book grants are available for studies in India only and shall be awarded by the North Eastern States from the fund allotted by North Eastern Council Secretariat, Shillong.

2. what are the components of a NEC Stipend & Book grant?
A NEC stipend & Book grant has two components namely stipend & Book grant.

3. How much book grant will I get?
The book grant will be dependent on the course you pursue. Diploma Rs.1,000/-P.A., Degree Rs.1,400/-P.A., P.G Level Rs.2,000/-P.A., M.Phil & Ph.D Rs.3,000/-P.A.

4. How can I know my scholarship status??
Please visit the epass website and click on the application status button given in the tab of the web page. furnish you application ID and other details as required. Upon furnish the details you will get a detailed statement on your application.

5. Can I register after the last date ?
unless the date for registration has been extended you cannot register as the epass portal will not allow you to register. Please register in time to avoid disappointment !

6. what is the meaning of verification in the scholarship process?
The process of verification is essentially meant to check whether the particulars given in the scholarship form are correct as per the documents enclosed.

** Verification by the Verification Officer : The verification officer appointed by the Higher education Department will conduct physical and documentary verification and submit his report either accepting or rejecting the scholarship application.

** Scrutiny by the Departmental selection committee : Before each and every application is taken up for sanction it is the responsibility of the Departmental Selection committee to satisfy himself of the verification by the college Principal and the verification officer and finally sanction the scholarship

7. I have submitted offline aplication. How can I check my online status without application number?
Without application number you will not be able to check the status.
