How To Apply For WBSEDCL Electricity Connection?

In the Web portal of the utility, facility of online application for new service connection for load up to 125 KVA is available.

Following steps need to be followed by the intending consumer for applying new connection :
Quotation Calculator :
The quotation calculator tool is available to have the idea of the total financial involvement of service connection according to the load applied.
** In Quotation Calculator Tool, the user has to enter only the no. of equipments to get the total wattage of load. If there is any gadget / equipment not present in the list, user is requested to enter the total wattage in the option “Others”.
** Applicant shall have to select the type of consumer (domestic/commercial) depending upon the requirement, category (rural/urban) and the connection phase.
** As per service connection procedure of WBSEDCL, intending consumer may opt for purchase of meter in no. of instalment and in that case user shall have to option “Yes” and no. of instalment. Intending consumer may opt for Meter as rental basis and for such case, user shall have to option “No”.
** By Clicking on the link provided below, detail approximate breakup of the payable service connection and Security Deposit charges will be displayed.

User Registration :
For Online application of new service connection, user has to register himself through a simple self registration process by giving Name, user ID (of his/her choice), email ID and mobile No. The system generated password will be displayed in the screen and as well as mailed to the user at the given mail id.

Log in and Onward Process :
Step-1. :
User needs to log in the system with user ID and password. After successful login, applicant may change his / her password.

Step-2 :
User needs to fill up all the details provided in the application page and submit the same.

Step-3 :
Instant quotation for service connection will be generated for the intending consumer having application no. and he may download the quotation letter.

Step-4 :
The quotation amount may be paid through e-payment gateway in net-banking/debit/credit card mode in the WBSEDCL Web portal and may download the payment receipt or alternatively applicant may deposit payment at concerned Customer Care Centre.

Step-5 :
** The service connection activity will be taken over by the utility.
** Intending consumer is requested to download the application form (Procedure A). Application duly filled in along with document(s) of bonafide occupation or ownership of a premises through any one of the documents such as Passport / Voter Identity Card / Rent Bill / Rent Control Challan / Telephone Bill / Municipal or any other Tax Bill / any other documents issued by any Ministry or Department of Government showing his occupancy of the premises applied for may be handed over to the authorised representative of WBSEDCLat the time of effecting service connection.

Step-6 :
The intending consumer may check the status of his/her application in the Website at any point of time after login with the valid credential.

Error / Problem:
1. I want a new connection for sub marshall pump at Malda. I can’t apply through online. When I login from WBSEDCL the computer will display, “No portal roles are assigned for this user”. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator. I can’t understand, what can I do? I can’t contact the customer care number. So please help me, What can I do?

2. WBSEDCL webpage login shows the message that, “No portal roles are assigned for this user. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.”

Documents Required For New Electricity Connection

The following documents are required for a new electricity connection in West Bengal:
** Proof of identity (Aadhaar card, voter ID card, passport, etc.)
** Proof of address (Ration card, electricity bill, bank statement, etc.)
** NOC from the landlord (if applicable)
** Application form (available at the WBSEDCL office)

    1. Yes. I am also affected by this issue. There is no contact number, and Billing Customer Service don’t have a clue. I was told to submit a written complaint with no idea of how long a resolution will take. It is so frustrating.
