The Attractive Registration Numbers are divided in the following categories on the basis of prescribed fee :
** RS 15000/-Fee Category
** RS 7500/-Fee Category
** RS 6000/-Fee Category
** RS 3000/-Fee Category

** An attractive Registration Number may be reserved by any person who has made an application and has made the payments through this ONLINE MODE.
** An applicant has to select only that RTO office in which he presently resides. Proof of address has to be submitted by the applicant at the time of actual Registration of the vehicle. (For Proof of Address , please see
** If place of residence of applicant does not fall in the District where RTO office is situated, then the number so reserved shall be cancelled and the fee deposited shall be forfeited.
** The reservation of Registration Number shall be on the principle of – First come first- basis and the Number once reserved shall not be transferable.

** The number so reserved shall be allotted by respective Registering Authority, on production of the vehicle along with e-Receipt, the Application in FORM-20 and other necessary documents prescribed under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules,1989. (For necessary Documents, please see
** The reservation of the registration number shall be CANCELLED if the vehicle is not produced within 30 days from the date of reserving the registration number.
** The reserved Registration Number so cancelled can be allotted to any other person.
** The reservation fee once paid shall on no account be refunded.

Important Precaution :
Vehicle Series are divided into Non Transport (Private) and Transport (Commercial) category. Please be careful while selecting vehicle series.

6. Can alterations be made in the basic structure of any vehicle?
No, the basic structure of any vehicle as originally manufactures, can not be altered in any case,
Save for the following exceptions :
(a) In case the engine is modified so as to alter the type of fuel used into battery / CNG / LPG / solar power, or any other fuel or source of energy by fitment of a conversion kit.
(b) In case the engine has become defective and is replaced by another engine of exactly the same make and type as the original.

7. Can a bus be converted into a truck / can a truck be converted into a tanker / can a petrol engine be converted to diesel or vice versa?
No, none of these conversions are allowed.

8. Is a trailer required to be registered separately?
Any trailer has to be registered under the same provisions that apply to the registration of vehicles.
