Kabini Backwaters Forest Safari
Kabini Backwaters Forest Safari is a popular experience conducted by the Karnataka Forest Department in Kabini river. The Karnataka Forest department operates two types of safaris in Kabini- one is the jeep safari and the other is boat safari in Kabini River.
The boat safari lasts for close to 90 minutes and guests may see elephants mud bathing on the shores, several birds such as cormorants, cranes, darters along the river banks, crocodiles as well as snakes.
Kabini Boat Safari Timings
Boat Safari in Kabini river is done twice a day- 3.30 PM to 6.15 PM and 6.30 AM to 9.15 AM
Season:
The River Kabini Lodge is a great place to visit any time of the year. But during the sweltering months of March, April and May, the pools and springs in the forest dry up, bringing the animals to the banks of the River Kabini.
Here you get to see the largest congregation of Asiatic Elephants in the wild. The monsoons (July, August and September) has the trees lush and thick, but promise fewer animal sightings. The other months promise a fair chance of animal and bird sightings.
Note:
Boat safari may be suspended during summer months when water level is too low or during rainy season when river may be overflowing.
Cost & Packages
Cost of a boat safari is included in the room rental paid by guests of Kabini River Lodge operated by Jungle Lodge & Resorts. For external guests a charge is payable, which may vary based on nationality (Indians/foreigners) and weekday/weekend

** All request for cancellation of confirmed booking have to be received through email or in writing if booked at our office in Bangalore.
** 10% of the tariff, if cancelled two or more than two weeks before check in date/time.
** 50% of the tariff, if cancelled between 48hours to two weeks before check in date/time.
** No refund if cancelled less than 48hours before check in date/time.
** One postponement / Preponement is free if requested two or more than two weeks before check in date/time (Once postponed /preponed there is no further change or cancellation).
** 10% of the tariff, if requested between 48hours to two weeks before check in date/time.
** 50% of the tariff, if requested within 24hours to 48 hours before check in date/time.
