Categories of KSVC Kerala Veterinary Certificate Registration

KSVC Kerala Veterinary Certificate Registration Categories are

Provisional Registration:
It is offered to the students who have successfully completed four and a half years of veterinary education before starting their internship programme. A BVSc & AH course completion certificate from the college is mandatory.

Permanent Registration:
It is offered to the students having provisional registration who have successfully completed the internship programme. Provisional degree certificate /degree certificate is mandatory.

Renewal of Registration:
Registered veterinarians need to renew their registration every five years.

Duplicate Registration Certificate:
Issued in case of permanent loss of the permanent / renewal registration certificate upon request.

No objection Certificate:
Issued in case of transfer of a registered member of KSVC to other state veterinary councils upon request

Good standing certificate:
Issued to a registered member of KSVC who work abroad.

About Kerala State Veterinary Council

The Kerala Legislative Assembly in its sitting held on 30 July 1985 passed a resolution to adopt the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 in the State of Kerala. According to Government of India Notification No. 23/116/84/LDT (LHS) dated 28.11.1986, the Indian Veterinary Council Act came into force in Kerala with effect from 1.12.1986.

The Government of Kerala appointed a three member Registration Tribunal in 1988 to prepare the Primary Veterinary Practitioners’ Register. The members of the Tribunal were Dr G Nirmalan, Dr M S Jayasooryan and Dr P Balachandran. This register was prepared in early 1989 and according to Section 82 of the Act and as per GO (P) No. 132/91/AD dated 2 April 1991, Kerala State Veterinary Council was constituted.

Acts:
1. An Act to regulate veterinary practice and to provide, for that purpose, for the establishment of a Veterinary Council of India and State Veterinary Councils and the maintenance of registers of the veterinary practitioners and for matters connected therewith.

2. WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the regulation of veterinary practice and to provide, for that purpose, for the establishment of a Veterinary Council of India and State Veterinary Councils and the maintenance of registers of persons qualified to engage in veterinary practice for the whole of India and for matters connected therewith or ancillary thereto;

3. AND WHEREAS Parliament has no power to make laws for the States with respect to any of the matters aforesaid except as provided in articles 249 and 250 of the Constitution;

4. AND WHEREAS in pursuance of clause (1) of article 252 of the Constitution, resolutions have been passed by all the Houses of the Legislatures of the States of Haryana, Bihar, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan to the effect that the matters aforesaid should be regulated in those States by Parliament by law
