What is KOMPAS Vehicle Enrollment?

Any vehicle owner who wish to transport mineral using ePass has to enroll their vehicle in the KOMPAS portal. The procedure for enrollment is very simple. The vehicle owner has to keep scanned copy of Registration Certificate (RC) and the latest Goods Permit issued by Motor Vehicles Department.

The owner should have a mobile phone number for enrolling the vehicle. No fee is charged for enrollment. If the owner is availing services of Akshaya Kendra for vehicle enrollment then a service charge of Rs. 40 for vehicle will have to be paid to the Kendra. No user registration is required for enrollment of vehicle.

How To Apply For KOMPAS Vehicle Enrollment?

To apply for KOMPAS Vehicle Enrollment, follow the below steps

** Visit the KOMPAS portal portal.dmg.kerala.gov.in.
** Click the vehicle enrollment/withdrawal link. Following screen will appear. It may be noted that the fields marked * are mandatory
** Enter vehicle registration number and last five digit of vehicle chassis number (this number is available in the RC.
** Click “Next” button. Following message will appear
** This message says that this vehicle has not been enrolled earlier and in case the registered owner has enrolled another vehicle then press “Yes” else press “No”. The user can select “Yes” or “No” button as the case may be. If “yes” button is pressed then the details of the registered owner will be displayed automatically. For this the user has to key in the OTP received in the registered mobile number.
** Enter the preferred office for enrollment of vehicle. This only means that the vehicle particulars entered will be verified by one of the officers of the selected office. The user may choose the office of his convenience.
** Enter owner details.
** Enter the vehicle details
** Maker’s name and class of vehicle shall be given as given in the RC (see example given below). In the example given below the maker’s name is TATA MOTORS and class of vehicle is HGV‐Tipper. The year of manufacture is 1997.
** Maximum load permitted may be given as given in the Goods Carriage Permit. In the example given below the maximum load permitted is 15155 kg.
** After furnishing details the user may click “Submit” button. In case some details are not available then the user may click “Save as draft” button and later after furnishing all details press “Submit” button.
** After submission, if user wants to view the details submitted user may again submit vehicle registration number and chassis number and click “Next” . The user receives a One Time Password (OTP) as SMS
** Input the OTP and the details entered as well as the status will be displayed.

How To View Vehicle Enrollment Status?

Viewing Vehicle Enrollment Status By Owner:
The vehicle owner who has submitted the application for enrollment of vehicle can view the status of registration by clicking “vehicle enrollment status/withdrawal status” menu. When this link is clicked a new page opens which has two option 1) view status by owner and 2) view status by public. The owner will be permitted to view the status as well as the details furnished by him/her. But owner has to key in the OTP received in the registered mobile for doing so.

Viewing Vehicle Enrollment Status By Public:
The public will be able to view know only few details like owner’s name, make, capacity and status of enrollment

Withdrawal of Vehicle Enrollment

** The withdrawal of vehicle enrollment shall be done in two cases 1) when ownership changes and 2) when the owner do not wish to transport mineral in the vehicle anymore. For this “Vehicle enrollment/withdrawal” link may be clicked. Give the vehicle number and chassis number. Click “Next” button. The owner will receive an OTP in the registered mobile. Provide OTP and the vehicle details will be displayed. Click the “withdraw” button.
** When withdraw button is clicked following screen will appear. The owner has to key in the reason for withdrawal and click “withdraw vehicle enrollment” button.
** On clicking the application for withdrawal will be forwarded to the office concerned for approval. The owner will receive SMS on approval by District Office.
** When the vehicle is sold, the new owner has to do fresh enrollment.
