Renewal :
For the renewal of Driving License one has to apply to the Licensing Authority along with the following documents :
** Application in Form No. 9
** Permanent Driving License
** Medical Certificate in Form 1-A
** Three copies of passport photographs, if renewal is to be made in Form 6.
** Fees as specified in rule-32

Where to Apply :
to the jurisdictional licensing authority i.e Regional Transport Office/ Registering & Licensing Authority.

Permanent Licence :
Necessity :
No person shall drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds an effective driving licence issued to him authorising him to drive the vehicle;

Required Documents :
** An application for a driving licence shall be made in CMV Form-4
** an effective learner licence;
** appropriate fee as specified in rule 32;
** three copies of the applicant’s recent passport size photograph;
** in case of transport vehicles certificate in CMV Form 5 issued by driving training school
** proof of residence;
** proof of age;

For Transport Vehicle
** The applicant shall have attained the age of 20 years in case of Transport vehicle (Auto rickshaw cab,Taxi, Goods Vehicle, Bus etc.)
** One year driving experience of light motor vehicle is required.

For Non-Transport Vehicle
** No person under the age of eighteen years shall drive a motor vehicle in any public place :
** Provided that a motor cycle with engine capacity not exceeding 50cc may be driven in a public place by a person after attaining the age of sixteen years
