What is BHEL Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme?

Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme (RECHS) is intended to extend medical cover to the retired BHEL employee and his/her spouse and spouse of an employee who dies while in service, subject to the conditions mentioned herein. The scheme is a welfare measure by the company for its retired employees and their spouses. Company’s liability under the scheme is limited to treatment availed in India and to the extent specified under the scheme.

Eligibility of BHEL Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme

This scheme will henceforth apply to the following categories of BHEL retired / deceased employees: –

1. Regular employees who retired from service of BHEL on attaining the age of superannuation after rendering a minimum of 15 years continuous service in the Company & / or CPSEs, out of which minimum 5 years of continuous service must have been rendered in BHEL.

2. Those appointed by the Government through PESB and retire from the Company on attaining the age of superannuation, after completing 15 years of continuous service in CPSEs.

3. Other regular employees who retire from service of BHEL in accordance with the Rules of the Company before attaining the age of superannuation (including cases of compulsory retirement (not as penalty) and Pre Mature Retirement; after rendering a minimum of 15 years continuous service in the CPSEs, out of which minimum 10 years of continuous service must have been rendered in BHEL before such retirement.

4. The Board level appointees who have rendered minimum 15 years of continuous service in CPSEs including the service in BHEL but leave the Company due to non-extension of tenure/resignation/ selection to other PSUs. They will be eligible to become member under the scheme on superannuation/ retirement / non-extension of tenure/ resignation from other CPSEs which they joined after leaving the services of the Company. It will however be subject to payment of applicable contribution in this regard.

5. The spouse of an employee who dies while in service irrespective of no. of years of service rendered.

6. BHEL Executives, who after putting in minimum 20 years of continuous service in BHEL, leave to join the Board of another Central PSU and finally retire from there.

7. A permanently disabled employee (including temporary employees recruited against regular vacancies) discharged / terminated from service, or Compulsory Retirement or Pre Mature Retirement on account of permanent disability due to an injury arising out of and in the course of employment irrespective of no. of years of service rendered

How To Apply For BHEL Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme?

To Apply For BHEL Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme, Follow the below steps

Step1:
Type http://ecare.bhel.in and click on to the link of Retired Employees Contributory Health Scheme (RECHS). You will be directed to the page below. The details on the left of the page contains information pertaining to RECHScheme and about the system, which can be referred for getting membership and revalidation completed by Ex-Employees

On the right side of the page, click on login page to access the RECHS portal, wherein two link buttons pertaining to “Ex-Employee Section” and “HR Section” would be displayed. Click on “Ex-Employee Section”

Step2:
Any Ex-employee with a staff no. and DoB (dd/mm/yyyy) as password can log into the system and create his/her profile (Personal/Education/Experience etc.) as well as access information of all the links as mentioned under ecare portal, mentioned in page 1 of this document. These links are individually available in the drop down list, on the Application list.

While one logs in to the system, a window would open prompting ex-employee to fill information pertaining to mobile no. and email id etc. to give access to the individual on this portal.

Fill all the details and save to proceed to complete the application process. o create his/her profile viz., Personal/Education/Experience/Interests which is optional may be stored including photograph etc.) and thereafter all links under ecare portal and pertaining to retired employees is available

Note:
Forgot password link is applicable only when the beneficiary has registered once on the system with his valid email id and phone no. The link for reactivation of password change would be sent only on the email id

Step 3 (a): Process for Initial Membership:
If you are not a RECHS member and would want to avail benefits under the scheme, click on “RECHS Initial Membership Enrollment Form”

Important Instructions:
a. All the fields are mandatorily to be filled up in the enrollment form, failing which the application will not be submitted.
b. Special care is to be taken while providing data pertaining to mobile number and email-id, as these shall be used for future correspondence.
c. RECHS Unit/Registration center and Cost center:
** Separation/Retired Unit (cost center) – Place from where the ex-employee retired,
** RECHS Unit – the place from where the ex-employee avails RECHS benefits and
** RECHS Registration Center/location – the actual location/place from where the facility is being utilized.

Ex., (1) Ex. An employee may have retired from Tiruchy, availing benefits from Tiruchy in which case his cost center, RECHS Unit and RECHS Registration center/location would be same, i.e., Tiruchy (2) Ex-employee retired from Haridwar, registered at Delhi, in which case his Cost center would be Haridwar, RECHS Unit would be ROD and RECHS Registration center/location would be Delhi.

Step 3(b): For Existing “RECHS Members”
Employees who are already a member under RECHScheme may login with their staff no and DOB (dd/mm/yyyy) and shall be directed to the page below directly.

Revalidation History and Dues list:
1. Revalidation of the latest completed benefit period shall be listed here.

2. In case, there are dues pending on Ex-Employee on account of reasons mentioned in the scheme, based on which the revalidation is held up, the same shall be reflected here by Unit HR with remarks and the membership shall be discontinued till such time dues are cleared. Any entry would call for penal re-entry charges to be paid first before membership is continued. If no such action is required, the message displayed would be “No Dues Pending” proceed to Pay your revalidation fees.

The BHEL Retired Employees’ Contributory Health Scheme (RECHS) is a welfare program offered by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to provide medical coverage to its retired employees and their dependents. Here’s how you can apply for the scheme:

Application Process:
1. Download the application form: You can download the RECHS application form from the BHEL e-care portal: https://www.bhel.com/
2. Fill the form: Fill out the form carefully, providing all the required information such as your name, date of birth, date of retirement, employee ID, details of dependents, and preferred mode of treatment (company hospitals/dispensaries or panel doctors).
3. Attach documents: Attach copies of the following documents with your application form:
** Proof of retirement (pension order)
** Proof of identity (Aadhaar card, PAN card)
** Proof of address (ration card, electricity bill)
** Medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
** Passport-size photographs of yourself and your dependents
4. Submit the application: Submit the completed application form along with the required documents to the designated office. This could be the HR department of your nearest BHEL unit or the Corporate e-Care Portal if you choose online submission.

Additional Information:
** The RECHS contribution amount is revised periodically. You can find the latest contribution amount on the BHEL e-care portal.
** You can choose to avail treatment at company hospitals/dispensaries or from panel doctors. The list of panel hospitals and doctors is also available on the BHEL e-care portal.
** For online submission of the application form and payment of contributions, you can visit the RECHS Members’ Corporate Login on the BHEL e-care portal.
