What is Record of Rights (RoR)?

A Record of Rights (RoR) is a crucial land document in India that serves as a comprehensive record of ownership, rights, and liabilities associated with a specific land parcel. It’s essentially a single document containing all the vital details about a piece of land, simplifying land-related transactions and disputes. Think of it as a land’s identity card, providing an overview of its legal status and ownership history.

Here’s what you can typically find in an RoR:
** Landowner’s details: Name, address, and type of ownership (individual, joint, etc.)
** Land description: Location, survey number, area, type of land (agricultural, residential, etc.)
** Encumbrances: Any mortgages, leases, or other claims on the land
** Rights and liabilities: Details of the owner’s rights (e.g., cultivation rights) and any liabilities like land revenue payable to the government
** Transaction history: Record of past ownership changes and mutations

Additional Simplified Procedure

There are two main ways to view your DSLR Goa Land Record of Rights information:

1. Online:
The Government of Goa has a dedicated website for viewing land records, called the Bhunaksha portal. You can access this portal at https://dslr.goa.gov.in/.

** Enter the survey number and subdivision number of your land. You can find these numbers on your property tax bill or any other land-related documents you have.
** Click on the “Search” button.
** Your land record information will be displayed on the screen. This information includes the owner’s name, the type of land, the area of the land, and the encumbrances (if any).

2. Offline:
You can also visit the office of the Talathi (village revenue officer) or the Mamlatdar (taluka revenue officer) in your area to view your land record information. They will be able to look up your information in their records and provide you with a copy.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
** The Bhunaksha portal is available in both English and Konkani.
** You can download a copy of your land record information from the Bhunaksha portal.
** There is a fee for obtaining a certified copy of your land record information.
