What is Integrated Social Security Scheme?

ISSS (Integrated Social Security Scheme) is a State Sponsored Scheme by the Social Welfare Department of the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir where financial assistance is provided to Old Age Persons, Widows, Divorcees, Women in Distress, Transgenders, and Physically Handicapped Persons. The scheme is funded through Plan and Non-Plan on the basis of a 50:50 sharing pattern.

The scheme has the following components :
a) Pension for Old Age Person
b) Pension for Women in Distress
c) Pension for Physically Challenged Person
d) Pension to Transgenders

Under the “Pension for Old Age Person” component of ISSS, a pension of ₹1000 per pensioner per month is deposited directly into their Bank Account through DBT mode. The aim of the scheme is to provide monthly financial assistance to Old Age Pensioners who have meager support or no source of livelihood.

Eligibility of Integrated Social Security Scheme

** The age of the applicant should be at least 60 Years for Men and at least 55 Years for Women.
** The income of the applicant should be less than ₹ 75,000/- per annum or the applicant should be from the “Below Poverty Line (BPL)” Category.

How To Apply For Integrated Social Security Scheme?

To apply for Integrated Social Security Scheme, Follow the below steps

Offline :
Step 1: The application forms are available with DSWO/TSWO free of cost. The applicant shall submit the duly filled and signed application form (https://jkdswdj.jk.gov.in/pdf/FORMISSS1.pdf).along with the required documents reg. the age, income, status, and address, to the concerned Tehsil Social Welfare Officer against proper receipt.

Step 2: The concerned Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) consolidates the list of eligible applicants under the scheme and forwards it to the concerned District Social Welfare Officer for the arrangement of funds and accord of sanction by a designated District level Sanctioning Committee headed by the Director General, Social welfare Department, Kashmir.

Step 3: The amount is disbursed to the beneficiaries through bank advice/money orders.

** Proof of Residence (Ration Card / Voter Card, etc.)
** Proof of Age (Birth Certificate / Medical Certificate / Aadhaar Card / Voter Card)
** Income Certificate (of less than ₹ 75,000/- per annum or BPL Category)
** Copy of Aadhaar Card
** Copy of Bank Passbook
** Passport Sized Photograph
** Personal Declaration

Additional Simplified Procedure

The Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) in Jammu & Kashmir is a state-sponsored program that provides financial assistance to various vulnerable groups. Here’s how to apply for the ISSS:

Eligibility:
Age:
** Old Age Pension (OAP): 60 years and above (55 years and above for women)
** Widow Pension (WID): Women who have lost their spouses and have no means of income.
** Pension for Physically Challenged Persons (PCP): Individuals with a disability of 40% or more.
** Pension for Transgender Community (TG): Transgender individuals above 18 years.

Income: Must be below the poverty line (BPL) or have an annual income less than ₹75,000.
Residence: Must be a resident of Jammu & Kashmir.

Application Process:
1. Obtain the application form: You can download the application form from the website of the Social Welfare Department, Jammu & Kashmir https://jksocialwelfare.nic.in/. Alternatively, you can visit your local Tehsil/Panchayat office and collect a physical copy.

2. Fill out the application form: The form requires details like your name, address, contact information, category (OAP, WID, etc.), and proof of income, age, residence, and disability (if applicable).

3. Attach necessary documents:
** Proof of residence (ration card, voter ID)
** Proof of age (birth certificate, Aadhaar card)
** Income certificate (if not BPL)
** Aadhaar card copy
** Bank account details with IFSC code
** Disability certificate (for PCP)

4. Submit the application: Submit the completed application form and documents to the Social Welfare Officer in your district.
