What is Checkpost Portal?
Checkpost portal is meant to be a common platform from where various checkpost services are provided to citizens, as and when they are developed by the department. These services are being started for online checkpost tax payment of vehicles. The owners of these vehicles can access to the portal from any internet access point, and deposit their due taxes through net banking facility.

How To Pay Checkpost Tax Online?
Checkpost Tax Payment Online system will save them the trouble of physically coming to the transport office, while the department will be able to collect their taxes in a cashless and seamless way. Once the user logs on to the system and provides the required information about the vehicle, the software calculates and displays the tax amount payable.
If the user accepts to make the payment, the portal redirects him to selected bank or treasury site. The user then makes the payment from his bank account through secure Internet Banking. Once the transaction is complete, the software generates a detailed receipt, which can be printed by the user for his records.
For checking the authenticity of receipt, the transport department officials will be able to cross-check the payment details by logging on to the portal using this web-based software. They can also view / print various reports which will be generated for officials of the transport department.
Steps:
To pay Checkpost Tax online, Follow the below steps
Step-1 : Go to the link https://parivahan.gov.in/en/node/579
Step-2 : Select the State and
Step-3 : Follow the Instructions.
Process To Pay The Checkpost Tax:
1. Select the ‘Tax Collection’ menu from ‘Service Name drop down list.
2. Click ‘Go’ button to open the vehicle details form.
3. Enter ‘Vehicle No.’ and click ‘Get Details’ button to fill the details.
4. Fill rest of the fields which are not filled automatically.
5. In case fields are not filled automatically then enter the details manually.
6. Click ‘Calculate Tax’ button to calculate the tax according to state notification.
7. Click ‘Pay Tax’ button to pay the calculated tax.
8. It opens the payment gateway of VAHAN.
9. Choose payment gateway and click on ‘Continue’ button.
10. And then follow the screen to pay tax.
11. After paying tax bank will redirect to the Checkpost application.
12. In case your transaction is Success, it will show the successful receipt.
13. In case your transaction is Fail, it will show the failure message. Now you can again initiate the payment.
14. In case your transaction is Pending, it will show the pending message.
15. Use the ‘Check Pending Transaction’ option from home screen, follow it to check the status of transaction.
16. If transaction is success then system will generete the receipt otherwise system will show the fail/pending status.
Process To Pay The RTO application :
1. Select The ‘Pay Online of RTO Application’ From home screen.
2. Input ‘User Id’ and ‘Password’ received on provided mobile no during entry of application.
3. Input Captcha shown on the screen.
4. Click on ‘Get Details’ button to get the details of the input credentials.
5. Click on ‘Pay Tax’ Button.
6. It opens the payment gateway of VAHAN.
7. Choose payment gateway and click on ‘Continue’ button.
8. And then follow the screen to pay tax.
Block Or Unblock Of Registered User:
1. Select The ‘ADMINISTRATION’ From ‘Select Menu’ Drop Down Menu.
2. Select The ‘BLOCK AND UNBLOCK USER’ From ‘Service Name Drop Down Menu.
3. Select The ‘User Type’ Option.
4. Type And User Name To Block Or Unblock.
5. Click On ‘Get Details’ Button.
6. Click On Desired Link Shown In ‘Block Or Unblock’ Column Of The Below Table.
How To Generate the Receipt when the Transaction is Pending?
1. Select the ‘Check Pending Transaction’ from ‘Border Tax Payment’ menu on home screen.
2. It will show ‘Check Pending Transaction’ screen.
3. Enter Vehicle No. and click ‘Get Details’ button to fill the details.
4. Click the button available in ‘Check Status’ column of below table.
5. It will print the receipt according to the bank status.
6. In case your transaction is Success it will show the successful receipt.
7. In case your transaction is Fail it will show the failure message. Now you can again initiate the payment.
