Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) On Delhi Jal Board (DJB)

Is it mandatory to upload the picture of meter read to generate the bill ?
Yes, taking the picture from the same mobile phone and from within the App with turn ON status of GPS is mandatory for uploading the reading and generation of bill.

What is the purpose of this image ?
The image of the meter reading will be used for review & audit by Delhi Jal Board.
How many times can I generate bill using this App in a round ?
Bill can be generated only once during a bill round.

When can I start generating bills from the App after registration ?
The consumers who register for self bill generation using the App can start self bill generation from next billing round. DJB will make effort to notify the registered consumers via SMS on their registered mobile number.

Can I import the meter read picture from any other source into App for generating the bill ?
No. The picture should be taken from same mobile phone and from within the App with turn ON status of GPS.

What if I miss generating the bill timely from the App ?
If consumer misses to generate the bill during billing round, no bill will be generated during that round. However, during succeeding round it will be mandatory for the registered consumer to generate the bill from the App.

In case, no bill is generated during 2 consecutive rounds, self billing will be deactivated and consumer has to re-register for availing the facility.

Can I use more than 1 KNO from same mobile number ?
Yes, all the KNOs must be registered through the App.

Can I pay the bill of another KNO ?
Bill generation and payment can be made only for the registered KNOs from the App.

If I miss to downloadsave the bill after generating the bill, where will I found my generated bill ?
All generated bills & payment receipts can be downloaded from Home menu where consumer will find options of ‘Download Bill’ and ‘Download Payment Receipt’.

Additional Simplified Procedure

There are a few ways to view your Delhi Jal Board (DJB) balance online.

Through the DJB website:
1. Go to the DJB website: https://djb.gov.in/
2. Click on the “Consumer Services” tab.
3. Select the “View Balance” option.
4. Enter your consumer number.
5. Click on the “Submit” button.

The website will display your current water balance.

Through the DJB mobile app:
1. Download the DJB mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. Open the app.
3. Click on the “Consumer Services” tab.
4. Select the “View Balance” option.
5. Enter your consumer number.
6. Click on the “Submit” button.

The app will display your current water balance.

Through PhoneBanking:
1. Call the DJB PhoneBanking number: 1916.
2. Provide your consumer number.
3. Select the option to view your water balance.

The customer care representative will provide you with your current water balance.
