Transfer/ Surrender Ration Card :

Transferring Ration Card:
Procedure for Local transfer:
1. Applicant must be from the same Urban Local Body or Gram Panchayat.

2. Applicant submits the application to DSO/GPO.

3. SI/GPO checks and verifies the details in the master register and updates the FPS for the applicant in the register.

4. Clerk/GPO makes a new ration card and issues to the applicant.

Procedure for transfer between Gram Panchayats/Urban Local Bodies:
A citizen has to surrender his ration card to the DSO of his area for acquiring a surrender certificate. After getting the surrender certificate from DSO, one has to submit the surrender certificate to DSO of his new area while applying for new ration card. In case of rural, applicant gets it done through GPO.

Procedure for getting Surrender Certificate:
For Urban area
1. Applicant submits the Application form along with ration card to clerk.

2. Clerk checks the application form & required supporting documents and gives an acknowledgement receipt to the applicant.

3. SI complete entries in master Register & Shop Register.

4. SI Sends information to the concerned local Fair Price shop.

5. Surrender Certificate issued to the Applicant.

For Rural Area:
1. Applicant submits the Application form along with ration card to GPO.

2. GPO checks the application form & required supporting documents and gives an acknowledgement receipt to the applicant.

3. GPO complete entries in master Register & Shop Register.

4. GPO sends information to the concerned local Fair Price shop.

5. Surrender Certificate issued to the Applicant.

Fees: 5 Rs.

Supporting Documents Required:
1. Address Proof (Water/Electricity/Telephone Bill)
2. If on rent (Rent Receipt)
3. Surrender Certificate (In case of transferring from 1 Town/Gram Panchayat to another)
4. Ration Card of previous residence (In case of transferring from 1 Town/Gram Panchayat to another)
5. Certificate of residence address & no. of members by Institutional Head ( For Govt/Semi Govt Personnel)
6. Certificate of residence address & no. of members by Institutional Head/ Reporting Officer ( For people working in Registered Industrial Institutions)
7. Certificate for taking education & residential address by Institutional Head. (For students in Urban Area)

About Us :
The Food and Civil Supplies Department of Uttarakhand is functional since the reorganization of the state, and it has adopted the operational structure identical to the erstwhile state of Uttar Pradesh.

The State is divided into two regions Garhwal and Kumaon. One Regional Food Controller for procurement and distribution and One Assistant Commissioner for distribution at each of these regions overlook the operations. The Commissioner’s Office at Dehradun supervises the entire operations. 13 District Supply Offices (DSO’s) situated in each district form the implementation arm of the schemes.
