Online Citizen Guideline

Right to Public Services legislation in Maharashtra comprises statutory laws which guarantee time bound delivery of services for various public services rendered by the Government to citizen and provides mechanism for punishing the errant public servant who is deficient in providing the service stipulated under the statute.

Right to Service legislation is meant to reduce corruption among the government officials and to increase transparency and public accountability. Government of Maharashtra has passed an ordinance in April 2015 to implement this in the state.

RTS application flow for Citizen :
** Citizen will have to access RTS web portal to avail various RTS services.
** New user ha sto register using “Register Me” link from Citizen Service login.

** Registered user will use his/her login credentials and fill in the application form for service that he/she wants to apply for.
** Once the application form is filled, citizen will upload the required documents where applicable and make the applicable payment if applicable.

** Citizen will be given unique Application No which can be used for further tracking. SMS and Email (where email id has been given) will be sent to Citizen upon successful completion of the service.

** Citizen has to submit/send the hard copies of documents to Municipality concerned department/citizen facilitation center.
** Timeline for delivery of RTS starts once the Designated Officer receives the completed application.

That is in case where documents are not applicable; service duration starts from the date of complete application and payment. In case where documents attachment is applicable, it would start from the day when documents are submitted to Municipality and verified.

1. I received 4 copies of my Birth Certificate. All of them are printouts as given by Kalyan Municipal Corporation. Certificate is attested by electronic stamp and not rubber stamp. I need rubber stamp as, I applied for New Zealand residency and NZ immigration officers are asking for rubber stamp? How I can get rubber stamp on my birth certificate? I do have original one with me but, my information is written in Marathi and NZ immigration officer requested to be in English.This is why, I took latest copies from KDMC.

2. My Child was born in Hospital in Mumbai but, I am living in Kalyan. So, where should I apply for the birth certificate in BMC/KDMC?

Answer:
Though you live in Kalyan as far as your baby is born in Mumbai then, you will get birth certificate from Mumbai. Find out the hospital in which your child is born and that hospital falls under which ward office. For eg. Kem Hospital comes under F South ward office at Parel.
