How To Do e-Registration of VAT?

Using this web-site the dealers can request for the registration under VAT Act. Here, the dealer will be requested to enter the Form VAT-1 online and upload the scanned copies of documents/photos.

Once these details are submitted, system will generate the ACK Slip with unique number for the future reference of the dealer. This web-site also allows the dealer to make the payment of registration fee online through e-payment mode. Using the e-registration status option, dealer can check the status of processing of his application by the concerned officer. Once request is approved, the dealer could download a copy of registration certificate and a signed copy will also be sent by post.

FAQ On e-Filing

1. I do not have a Username/password for logging into e-Filing System of Commercial Taxes.What should I do ?
You can give a request in your respective LVO/VSO. The LVO/VSO will create a Username and inform you to collect it personally. On collecting the Username/Password, keep it confidential so that it is not misused by others.Also change the password at periodic intervals.<

2. Will the Commercial Taxes Department require my Username/Password for any reason ?
No. The Commercial Taxes Department does not require the Dealers username/password.

3. How should I improve Internet Security on my system ?
You can improve your Internet Security by
1. Updating with latest security patches
2. Enabling Firewall
3.Antivirus signatures applied
4. Scanning your computer regularly so that the system is Virus free
5. Check for last login time in the website.

4. If I have any problem in using the system, whom should I contact ?
You can contact the Control Room /Help Desk (24×7) on the following numbers.

5. e-Filing website is very slow on my system ?
Please check if the Internet speed provided by the ISP is fast. Check for the speed of other websites.If other websites are also slow, then contact your ISP.if only the e-Filing website is slow, then contact the Control Room/Help Desk

6. I am unable to download e-Sugam from Official Website. Is there any alternate website ?
Yes. We have two websites sugam.kar.nic.in or sugam2.kar.nic.in exclusively for e-SUGAM.

Additional Simplified Procedure

Here are the steps on how to do e-Registration of VAT in Karnataka:
1. Go to the Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department website: https://vat.kar.nic.in/.
2. Click on the “e-Registration” tab.
3. Select the type of registration you need. You can either register as a casual dealer, non-resident dealer, or resident dealer.
4. Enter your personal and business details.
5. Upload the required documents.
6. Pay the registration fee.
7. Submit your application.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an ERN (E-Registration Number). You can use this number to track the status of your application.

Here are the documents that you need to upload for e-Registration of VAT in Karnataka:
** PAN card of the proprietor/partner/director of the business.
** Aadhaar card of the proprietor/partner/director of the business.
** Proof of address of the business premises.
** Proof of registration with the concerned trade association (if applicable).
** Copy of the partnership deed (if applicable).
** Copy of the memorandum of association and articles of association (if applicable).

Note:
The registration fee for e-Registration of VAT in Karnataka is ₹500. You can pay the registration fee online through the Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department website. The processing time for e-Registration of VAT in Karnataka is usually 15 days. However, it may take longer if there are any errors in your application.

Once your registration is approved, you will receive a registration certificate from the Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department. You will need to keep this certificate with you for future references.
