agMOOCs is an online platform designed to help students, professionals, and organizations to acquire and enhance knowledge and skills in the agriculture domain.

How to Register?

Follow the steps given below to register at agMOOCs

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the course website
Step 2 : Click on “Register/Sign In” in the top right hand corner

Step 3 : Click on “Create New Account”.

Step 4 : A form opens up. Fill in all the information like, full name,
email,gender and nationality etc and then click on “CREATE NEW ACCOUNT”.

Step 5 : Now a mail will be sent to your registered email address. Click on the one time link in the mail to set your password.

Step 6 : From now on, “SIGN IN” then click on the Courses

Step 7 : Select a course under the heading “Upcoming”

Step 8 : Click on “Enroll”. This is one step process.

Step 9 : Click on “Access Course” to get to “Course Home”.

Step 10 : Course-Home is the class-room of an online course. You can also watch the lecture videos, access Forums, Resources, Announcements etc..

About agMOOCs

Agriculture is a critical sector that is vital for the growth of the Indian economy. It is also the sector where the need for improved skills is the greatest and most massive. Considering this urgent need, a consortium of leading institutions has launched Massive Open Online Courses called agMOOCs.

The platform provides free access to numerous high-quality courses online offered by renowned faculty from the premier institutes of the country. The intent is to reach out to thousands of learners through these MOOCs thus enabling them to access higher agricultural education.

Participation and Competency certificates will be awarded to qualifying students based on their involvement and performance. The certificates will be issued by the Centre for Development of Technical Education, IIT Kanpur and Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada.

How it Works?

Most of the MOOCs offered are of 6-8 weeks duration. Each of these MOOCs is delivered in form of short lectures of 10 to 20 minutes. As the course starts, 4-6 lectures are released per week in form of streaming videos.

PowerPoint slides and demonstrations are also included, wherever required. The MOOC platform being highly interactive allows learners to pose queries to the course faculty and to other participants. On occasions, the course faculty also organizes online chat sessions.
