Important Instructions To HMWSSB Consumers

1. Failure to fix up meter or fixed meter is defunct/defective, double the normal charges shall be levied & collected
2. Objections on demand notice shall be notified in writing within 14 working days from the date of issue of bill (Rule 33).
3. In the first instance, the bill amount should be paid before lodging complaint.
4. If for any reason bill is not received, it is the responsibility of the consumer to pay as per previous bill amount. {Rule 29(2)}
5. Pay bill on or before the due date to avoid Disconnections and Penalty @18% p.a as per Tariff Rules 29 (2) and Regulation 37 (2).
6. To know outstanding water bill amount send SMS as BILL ,<CAN> to 9248042525.
7. To register Mobile Number REGMOB<CAN> <LATEST BILL NO> to 9248042525. For Eg:REGMOB 022122300 D000001.
8. Pay the bill amount to Meter Reader/at door step/Cash counter/e-seva/ aponline/online at www.hyderabadwater.gov.in / NEFT-RTGS in Banks.
9. Failure to pay dues property of CAN holder/Occupant shall be attached for recovery.( Sec-95 & 99)
10. Sucking of water from service pipe is an offence, punishable with fine & imprisonment (Sec -32)
11. Do not use the domestic connection water for Non domestic purpose. (Sec. 38 )
12. To fix up the water meter and ensure it is in working condition (Sec-36).Information about availability of meters can be obtained from MCC No.155313
13. Tampering of water meter is criminal offense & liable for prosecution, apart from charging 3 times of normal charges (Regulation 24-A)

Terms &Conditions For Sanction:
1) Connections shall be sanctioned subject to technical feasibility and as per the rules & regulations issued under the HMWS&S Act, 1989.
2) Sanction of water supply & sewerage connection shall not confer any right or evidence to the applicant regarding ownership of the premises to which they are sanctioned.
3) The applicant is required to acquaint themselves with the relevant rules & Regulations in force updated in HMWSSB Website from time to time which are to be followed.
4) To pay the initial non-refundable&non- adjustable charges towards processing the application.
5) To pay the connection charges as shown in the intimation letter, within the prescribed period.
6) To construct Rain Water Harvesting structure as per the specifications before release of connection is mandatory
7) To construct sump having storage capacity to store water for 2 days requirement and meter chamber for water meter before connection is released.
8) The Board is not liable when supply reduced or not made in certain circumstances.
9) In all cases of bulk supplies (Category-II and Category-III) where the monthly demand/consumption exceeds 1500KL the consumers are required to enter into agreement with CGM(Revenue), HMWSSB for supply of water.
10) Additional connections for restaurants, eating houses, clinics, etc., situated in the ground floor of any Multistoried building, which has already provided with a connection under Category-II will be given at a flat rate of Rs.15,000/- for ½” size and Rs.25,000/- for ¾” size, subject to technical feasibility. In case the applicant for such a connection is a lessee, the tenure of connection is subject to the concurrence of the owner and the tenure of the connection will be coterminous with the lease period.
