Grievance Registration & Tracking :

Grievances pertaining to Consular Services offered by Indian Missions/Posts abroad are being addressed through the new Grievances Monitoring System (MADAD) of MEA. Please register/login to lodge your Grievance in MADAD.

Grievances regarding Compensation, Court Case, Domestic Help, Imprisoned abroad, Transportation of Mortal Remains, Repatriation, Salary Dues, Tracing the Whereabouts are to be lodged.

Grievance/queries with regard to visa and passport, emergency travel documents, attestation of documents will not be entertained in this portal.

Matters relating to following subjects should be referred to Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs moia.gov.in:
** Recruiting Agents
** Marital Disputes
** Education Related Issues

Processing Steps:
** Click on “Register (New User)” and fill required details.
** Click on “Activation” link sent in email (or OTP sent in SMS to Indian Mobile Holders) to activate the account.
** Log in to the Consular Grievances Monitoring System (MADAD).
** Click on “Register Grievances” link to fill details of your grievances.

Track Grievances Status :
View latest status and processing done on your grievance.

To monitor status of your grievance:
** Go to https://www.passportindia.gov.in/
** Go to ‘Consular Services’ and click on ‘Log and Track Grievances’.
** Visit the Consular Grievances Monitoring System by clicking on ‘click here’.
** Enter your ‘Login Id’ and click ‘Continue’.
** Enter the ‘Password’ and the ‘Captcha’ (Security Code) then click ‘Login’ button.

Select ‘Track Grievance Status’ and follow either of the two steps:
Enter either of the following information:
1. Grievance ID
2. Passport No.
3. Email Id

and Click ‘Submit’ button.

From the list of grievances provided, select any of the grievance by clicking on the radio button provided on the left and then clicking ‘View Grievance’.

Details of the grievance will be displayed on screen.

What is the jurisdiction of the Indian Diplomatic Mission?:
Only grievances falling under the consular jurisdiction of the concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission mentioned in the grievance, filled in by the grievant, will be entertained by the Indian Diplomatic Mission.

What is the mandatory information for registering grievances?:
Information with regard to fields marked in red are mandatory, i.e. First Name, Passport No., Date of Birth, Current Address of the person about whom the grievance filed, etc.

In recent years, the Government of India has taken many initiatives to usher in an era of e-Governance to improve the delivery of public services.

The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) includes many high impact e-Governance projects that have been identified as Mission Mode Projects (MMP’s). One such project focuses on reforming Passport services in India.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is responsible for issuance of Passports to Indian Citizens through a network of 37 Passport offices across the Country and 180 Indian Embassies and Consulates abroad.
